Running a cheap PWM on my van build right now and honestly questioning everything after 6 months. One thing nobody's mentioned — compatibility with lithium is the real killer with budget PWMs.

Good question from @Mike1980 — worth adding that this is especially common in vans where your battery temp drops overnight.

Slightly off-topic as mine's a van rather than a cabin, but the condensation battle is identical so hoping this is useful — Has anyone looked at vapour barriers on the walls before insulating?
