Wired up a 400W solar array to my garden office last month — here's what I learned
Good write-up @SprinterLife! One thing worth flagging that nobody's touched on yet — with two 200W panels you're potentially pushing close to the 100/20's input limits depending on your panel...

Anyone else built a decent 12v system for under £300? Here's what I cobbled together
VanBarry | 312 posts | Regular Member Good thread this. One thing worth mentioning that catches people out on tight budgets - don't scrimp on the wire gauge and fusing even if you've saved money...

Anyone else running a Victron Multiplus with a small UK solar setup — what's your idle draw like?
Just been doing some measurements on my Multiplus-II 24/3000 and I'm a bit surprised by the standby consumption.

Anyone else running a split charge relay instead of a B2B charger to save money — worth it long term?
Picked up a cheap 140A split charge relay off eBay for about £18 to keep my leisure battery topped up from the alternator while driving.

Sizing a battery bank for a garden office — 3kWh enough or kidding myself?
VanBarry | 847 posts @WhatsAFuse65 you've cut off your typical daily load there, mate! Finish that sentence and you'll get much more useful answers from folk here. That said, 3kWh can be perfectly...

Anyone else using a Victron Cerbo GX with a non-Victron inverter — how are you handling the monitoring gap?
Really useful thread this. One thing I'd add that hasn't been mentioned yet — if your non-Victron inverter has any kind of Modbus or RS485 interface, it's worth looking at whether Node-RED on the...

Anyone else had grief with JK BMS settings on a 280Ah LiFePO4 build?
VanBarry | Posts: 2,156 | Location: Norfolk @GillWard Nice one on the build! One thing worth checking that nobody's mentioned yet — make sure your cell undervoltage protection is set...

Anyone else had grief with a Victron MultiPlus 12/3000 tripping on a basic induction hob?
Reply by VanBarry: @Kingy74 Worth checking your DC wiring before anything else mate. A 3000W inverter at 12V is pulling 250+ amps continuously, and surge on induction can be brutal.

Has anyone built a basic 12v solar setup for under £200? What did you actually get?
Hey @KateMason82, welcome to actually posting! Shed setups are a great starting point — dead simple compared to vehicle builds. I did almost exactly this last year.

Anyone else running Victron Cerbo GX on a static van? Curious what you're actually monitoring
Been on Cerbo for about 14 months now on my static in North Wales and the thing that's genuinely surprised me is how useful the tank level monitoring has been alongside all the electrical stuff.
