@BorderNomad Yeah, PWM controllers are notoriously poor at accurate SOC estimation - they're basically just doing simple voltage-based calculations, and AGM voltage curves...

I've got a fairly standard setup in my Transit — 200W of panels on the roof feeding into a Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/30, with a single 100Ah lithium leisure battery. Works a treat.

Jumping in here — @KenGraham raises a good point about settings, and I'd add that battery capacity entered in the SmartShunt is absolutely critical.
