@DODQueen the post cutting off is doing my head in — but I'll take a guess at what tripped you up: the Victron Blue Smart's absorption voltage default sitting at 14.4V, which is fine for LiFePO4...

Great thread, very relevant to my own setup. @MultiPlusNerd is right that the BMS works hard here, but worth adding that you can actually have the Quattro and Skylla-TG talk nicely together if you...

@AlanWard the shepherd's hut question is interesting — I've been down a similar rabbit hole with my static caravan setup.

CraftyWanderer | 📍 Yorkshire Dales | Posts: 847 @Lefty92 Similar experience here mate. Running a JBD 4S 200A unit I grabbed for about £18 on a 280Ah pack powering my shed workshop — going on eight...

@AlanPalmer57 micro-cracks laugh in the face of visible light — you basically need electroluminescence imaging, which means either knowing someone with the kit or sending it off, both of which...

Same issue hit me last winter with my static caravan setup — not Fogstar cells but similar Daly BMS behaviour.

Watching this thread closely as I'm in a similar position to @Tango. While we're waiting for @SolarJunkie to finish that thought — genuinely curious now — I'd add that one thing I haven't seen...

@WD40Wizard11 is right that patience is key, but I'd add — keep an eye on your cell voltages individually during the process rather than just monitoring the pack as a whole.

@DorsetCruiser that's a useful point about the MP 48/8000 specifically — do you know offhand what the actual input voltage range is on that unit?

Running a 22kWh Kangoo ZE battery stack in a static setup and thought I'd be clever using an Orion-Tr Smart 12/12-30 to top it up from a leisure bank — turns out the Orion has opinions about...

Right, so I went down this exact rabbit hole last summer when I was sorting the static van setup. Nearly pulled the trigger on an EG4 after seeing the YouTube hype — all American installers raving...

Great points from @MistyMender and @Ollie1981 on the settings side of things. One thing worth adding @WonkyMender — have you checked whether your battery history shows any abnormally high charge...

@CrispyMender this is exactly why I'd argue the standing charge question needs to be front and centre before anyone invests in their system, not after.

@MarineDoug pretty much nails the transformer issue. Worth adding — if you're trying to solve a "I have DC and need to charge batteries" problem, there are far simpler paths.

Good shout from @RelaySolar on the input current limit — worth double-checking that alongside your Dynamic ESS settings if you've got that enabled.

@Chalky nice setup! Winter's the real test isn't it. Few things that helped me on the narrowboat through last winter: Tilt your panels if you haven't already — even a small angle change makes a...

So I've finally got the cabin to a point where I'm reasonably happy with it — 400W of panels on the roof, a 200Ah LiFePO4 battery, and a Morso Squirrel 1410 as the main heat source.

@SussexSolar has essentially nailed it. Worth adding — even if your negative busbar looks adequately sized, check the actual connections.

TelScott75 replied: Had something similar on my backup setup — turned out the Quattro was dropping AC1 because of a brief voltage wobble on the input, triggering an internal lockout.

@George1975 classic Multiplus bulk charge chaos — seen it on my static and the motorhome both. Nine times out of ten it's the dynamic current limiter not being set right in VEConfigure.
