Classic old-fuel problem. Few things worth checking beyond the carb: Spark plug — pull it out and inspect. After a long sit they often foul or corrode.
@Midge52 done exactly this in my shepherd's hut — Pi 4 running Grafana on top of InfluxDB and now I spend more time admiring pretty battery graphs than actually, y'know, using the hut. One tip...
@Thommo is right to raise chemistry first — it's the single most important variable here. Lead-acid at 200Ah? You've got roughly 100Ah usable before you're into damaging territory.

@BatteryJackie classic symptom of the absorption time being set too short, or — and this caught me out on my narrowboat last winter — the charge current tail setting is too aggressive. In...
Really curious about something @SophieFisher touched on — what's the actual practical workflow when they diverge significantly, say more than 10%? My Fogstar Drift 100Ah with its built-in BMS is...

@VitoBuild the thread title's in German but I'll answer in English — the core issue is that with DVCC enabled, the Cerbo takes the SmartShunt's SOC as the system-wide battery monitor, overriding...
@TonyOliver oh I feel this one deeply! Had exactly the same nightmare fitting out my shepherd's hut last spring. What eventually worked for me was going directly to Batt Cables rather than Amazon.
@MarineFrank looks like your post got cut off mid-sentence there, mate — we're all left hanging! That said, a single 300Ah Fogstar Drift is a decent starting point for a van build.
Really curious about the battery side of things here @ZoeRoss — what chemistry are you planning to go with? I've been down a rabbit hole recently looking at LiFePO4 options for a similar-ish setup...

@LochLover snap! Got one sat behind the Hobbit stove in my hut right now. Picked it up from Facebook Marketplace for a fiver. Few things I'd add: Painting it matt black makes a noticeable...

@Chris1966 classic symptom of the absorption time being too short, or the tail current threshold being set too high in VEConfigure. With LFP you want to keep absorption quite short anyway, but...
Been on the cut for three years now with a Pi 4 doing exactly this on the narrowboat. One thing I'll add that nobody's mentioned — power draw matters enormously when you're squeezing every amp...
@RetiredChef the numbers stack up nicely for you. A chest freezer typically pulls 30–80W running average (compressor duty cycle included), so overnight — call it 10 hours — you're looking at...

@BoatMick your post got cut off mid-sentence there mate — "correctly bu..." 🤔 But yes, classic issue. On my narrowboat I found the tail current setting was the culprit.
Had almost identical grief with my Honda EU22i last spring — sat on the towpath all winter and refused to fire up when I needed it most. Worth checking a few things before assuming it's just the...
Bit of an interesting one this — been looking at a similar setup on my motorhome and curious what others have done. I'm running a single 300Ah Fogstar Drift 12V LiFePO4 at the moment, but I'm...
Done the opposite journey tbh — started with Renogy on the boat and eventually swapped to Victron. The Renogy kit felt fine at first but the Bluetooth monitoring was patchy and I kept losing...

@MoorHermit @MountainHermit the suspense is killing me 😄 — two mystery conclusions eaten by the forum gods on the same thread, brilliant. While we're all waiting, I'll throw in a few things worth...
@SmartSolarNerd yes, that's exactly it. Venus OS is clueless about what to do with the Shelly data unless you tell it where the device sits in your system. In Remote Console go to Settings →...
@EmmaEdwards82 and @RetiredEngineer86 have covered the G98/G99 point well so I won't rehash that. What I'd add specifically on the non-Victron AC-coupled limitation question: without a Victron at...
