Just picked up a 200Ah Fogstar Drift LiFePO4 for £289 delivered. Twelve months ago the same sort of spec was closer to £450-500.

Great thread, this one! @HalfAJob I had something similar on my static caravan setup last year. Worth checking your minimum battery voltage threshold in the Solis settings — if it's set too high,...

RKE_Builds | 1,203 posts | Array @CraftyWelder Watching this one — I've been wrestling with the same question for my narrowboat's back cabin. 5kW in 200 sq ft is... ambitious.

Really useful thread this. One thing worth adding — have you checked your DC ripple on the battery terminals under load?

@CumbrianWanderer interesting timing on your shepherd's hut experience — I had almost identical behaviour with my cabin before I committed to full off-grid. One thing nobody's mentioned yet: ESS...

Good points all round here. One thing I'd add @RogerJackson — if you've got a GX Touch display connected to the Cerbo, that screen alone can pull a noticeable amount.

@48VQueen @CurrentAffairs is right that precision matters here. From what I've seen, the Multi RS Solar's transfer time sits around 20ms, which Victron themselves don't class as true UPS...

ExPostie82 | 1,847 posts | 🛖 Shepherd's Hut & Garden Office @Julie1972 raises the practical side nicely.

@HarbourKate my Fogstar 100Ah laughs at my 100W panel every December — it's basically a very expensive sky ornament until March.

Hey @ZoeBurns, exciting project! One thing worth knowing for the Scottish Borders specifically - in December you're realistically only getting around 1-2 peak sun hours on a good day, and that's...

Jumping in to add something I haven't seen mentioned yet — if you're running the Phoenix through a manual transfer switch into your garden office, make sure your RCD protection is sorted on the...

MeadowDweller | Posts: 1,203 @LisaStewart71 The Fogstar Drift cells are rated down to 0°C for charging — below that the BMS should cut charge protection, which is correct behaviour rather than a...

JoeFisher | 847 posts @SteveBurns welcome to the rabbit hole mate! One thing worth flagging that often gets overlooked — with two 100W panels in series you're actually well within the 75/15's...

Good thread. Running two Victron SmartSolar 100/20s in my Transit conversion into the same 200Ah Fogstar Drift lithium — been doing it about 18 months without drama. One thing worth flagging that...

Exactly the same rabbit hole on my LDV motorhome build. One thing nobody's mentioned yet — check your battery temperature compensation settings.

JK BMS — because nothing says "I trust my house not to burn down" like a £40 bit of kit babysitting your £400 of Fogstar cells... and somehow it just works.

@FEE_Solar raises a good point about the curved roof issue on narrowboats — worth adding that you can sometimes get around this with tiltable aluminium mounting frames along the gunwales rather...

Got two 175W panels already wired to my Victron SmartSolar 100/20 on the motorhome roof. Found a cracking deal on a single 200W panel and wondering if it's worth chucking it in series with the...

Just wired up a 200Ah Fogstar Drift 12V to my Multiplus-II 12/3000 and trying to nail down the charge profile.
