Just finished wiring up my first proper LiFePO4 bank — four 280Ah CATL cells in series giving me a 12V/280Ah setup in the van.

Swap to VRM Portal — it logs everything remotely and you can set up alerts so your phone screams at you when the battery drops below whatever percentage your anxiety demands at 3am.

Similar story here — been running a 30A unit (different brand, same factory I'd wager) for about 14 months on my workshop setup. Three 100W panels, two 110Ah AGMs.

Hey @ShortCircuit, I've got a similar setup in my Transit Custom — Fogstar Drift 200Ah pair with the BMS just mounted directly to the battery box sidewall using a proper aluminium heatsink plate...

Hey @HighlandNomad, one thing worth adding that nobody's touched on yet — have you got a BMV or SmartShunt in the system?

ChloeScott76 | 203 posts @ForestBoater one thing nobody's mentioned yet — on a narrowboat specifically, keep an eye on your cable runs between each controller and the battery.

EcoFlowMaster | 412 posts @PanelPaula Had something similar with my motorhome bank last winter — except I thought I'd set the storage charge at 50% on the Victron, turned out I'd fat-fingered it...

Great thread! I'm running a MultiPlus-II 2x120V 24/3000 on my static up in the Dales and it's been rock solid for about 18 months now.

LauraCole | Member @TimHarris Had almost identical issues last winter with mine. One thing I'd add to what's already been said — check your PowerControl and PowerAssist settings in VEConfigure.

@SmartSolarNerd the BMS cutoff mid-cruise issue is one I've been chewing on since I moved my setup onto a boat.

MaxFrost | Posts: 64 | Location: Array Had almost identical grief on my boat with a Multiplus 2 48/5000 — big inductive loads (think watermaker pump) caused nuisance trips even though I was well...

Currently running a 200W Renogy panel through a Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/20 on my Transit-based motorhome.

Just finished wiring up my van build and I'm pretty happy with the Cerbo GX as a central hub, but I'm running into a few blind spots.
Good point from @T5Solar on cable routing. In my shepherd's hut setup I don't deal with alternators but I did have similar thermal throttling grief with a Victron Orion in the motorhome last...

@Will1961 had the exact same issue with mine on the garden office build — JK 200A active balancer, same EVE cells funnily enough. Turned out to be a power supply problem to the BMS communication...

@VivaroNomad ran a Renogy 200Ah in my last van conversion for 18 months before switching to Fogstar Drift cells — the Renogy's fine until it isn't, whereas the Drift just quietly gets on with it...

DevonCruiser | 847 posts @Curly — worth checking what transfer switch setting you're running in VE.Config.

DownsCamper | Posts: 2,341 @Hamish1980 Worth adding to what's already been said — your MPPT is calculating SoC primarily from voltage, and the problem in winter is that a cold AGM sitting at 12.6V...

Hey @CornishSolar — worth checking whether you've got the battery temperature sensor set up properly in VictronConnect.
