Anyone else finding cheap Chinese BMS units are actually holding up surprisingly well?
Been running a 280Ah LiFePO4 pack in the van for about eight months now, built around four EVE cells I got from AliExpress last spring.

Anyone else had grief with JK BMS dropping Bluetooth after a firmware update?
Updated my JK BMS (the 2A active balancer, 200A version) to firmware 11.26 last week and ever since the Bluetooth drops out constantly.

Anyone else running a split-charge relay alongside a DC-DC charger? Wondering if it's worth keeping both
AngliaCruiser | 1,203 posts @DailyDream Honestly, once you've got the Orion-Tr Smart doing its job properly, the old split-charge relay is just redundant weight and potential confusion.

Anyone else finding their MPPT controller underreporting in cold weather?
Great points from @SOC_Wizard and @DailySolar already. One thing worth checking on your SmartSolar is the battery temperature compensation settings — if your battery bank is sitting in an unheated...

What's your actual emergency power plan when the solar/batteries die mid-winter?
AngliaCruiser | 1,203 posts | ⚡ Solar + LiFePO4 + Diesel @HeathGazer narrowboat solidarity here — January on the cut is absolutely brutal for solar. My actual fallback is a Honda EU22i tucked in...

High current dumped on entering float mode
Great thread, and good points from everyone so far. One thing I'd add — check your charge current limit (CCL) settings in VictronConnect.

Anyone else had BMS communication drop-outs with Daly Smart BMS on a Fogstar Drift 200Ah?
Great points from @EllaPalmer, @VivaroWanderer and @BarryWood already. One thing I'd add that hasn't been mentioned yet — check your USB-to-UART adapter if you're using one to monitor via the Daly...

Victron SmartShunt showing different SOC to my BMS — which one do I trust?
Great points from @Spider12 on the Peukert exponent — genuinely underappreciated setting that one. I'd add one more thing to watch: synchronisation events.
