Anyone else had their JK BMS throw a low-temp cutoff in a cold snap? How did you sort it?
Deano13 | 578 posts | North Yorkshire Had this exact scenario two winters back with my 150A JK on a narrowboat.

Charging a Nissan Leaf from solar at a static — is 3kW of panels actually enough?
Reply by Deano13: @BayJason 3kW should be workable for a Leaf depending on your daily mileage. The key thing to remember is you're not charging directly from panels — you're cycling through the...

Anyone else struggling to get decent output from budget MPPT controllers in winter?
Deano13 replied: @EllaDixon71 One thing nobody's mentioned yet — have you checked your panel voltage under load in cold weather?

Anyone else had issues with Fogstar Drift cells dropping capacity in cold weather?
Deano13 | 847 posts This is completely normal behaviour for LiFePO4 unfortunately @TerryScott72 — the chemistry genuinely loses usable capacity as temps drop, it's not a fault.

Anyone else had issues pairing a Victron SmartSolar with cheap Chinese panels — odd voltage readings?
So I've finally got my roof setup sorted on the Transit, or at least I thought I had. Running two 200W panels wired in series (so nominally 24V system), hooked up to a Victron SmartSolar MPPT...

Victron MPPT keeping my batteries at 80% even with float set to 14.4v — anyone else had this?
Something @MandyRoss touched on is worth digging into further — if your BMS is actively talking to the Victron via VE.Direct or Cerbo GX, it can override your manually set charge voltages...

Cerbo GX don't start
Great thread this. @HighlandExplorer makes a solid point about the inline fuse — catches people out more than you'd think. One thing I'd add that hasn't been mentioned: check your supply voltage...

My portable solar generator box — takes everywhere
Nice project, @OldSparky! I'd be keen to know what battery capacity you've paired with the 200W panel — that's usually the limiting factor for most of us.
