Off Grid Earthing at Power in
Great topic @Nessa - the static caravan context is worth flagging specifically because it changes things slightly from a van build. With a static caravan you're essentially treating it as a...

Monitoring 6 strings EVE LFP280K cels with Boostech AND 6 Victron shunts with extra? cerbo
Foggy80 | 847 posts | ⚡ Off-grid since 2019 @Davo24 interesting setup! One thing worth flagging — with 6 separate strings you'll want to think carefully about how the Cerbo handles multiple shunt...

Adding Solar - Victron MPPT to MultiPlus
@PN_Camper nice setup! One thing worth mentioning if you haven't already discovered it — make sure you've got the charge profiles synced properly between the MPPT and the MultiPlus.

Anyone else running EV charge points off solar in a motorhome?
Really interesting thread @GoldenMaker! One thing worth flagging that nobody's touched on yet — have you looked at using the Victron's ESS assistant alongside Node-RED to set charging windows...

Anyone else finding their 12V system struggles on grey January days even with decent panel wattage?
Hey @FrankMurray, know exactly what you mean mate. January in the UK is brutal for solar - you're lucky to get 2-3 peak sun hours even on a clear day, and when it's properly overcast that can drop...

Anyone else using a Raspberry Pi to log Victron data locally without VRM?
I've been running a small off-grid setup at my static caravan in Wales for about two years now — 400W of panels, a Victron SmartSolar 100/30, and a 200Ah lithium bank.

Anyone else finding their MPPT controller wildly optimistic about battery state of charge?
Foggy80 | 412 posts @ValleyAmy worth checking whether your SmartSolar is actually syncing properly with the Drift's built-in BMS via VE.Smart networking — if it's not picking up the BMS data,...

Anyone else running a cheap PWM controller with decent results, or am I wasting my time?
Reply by Foggy80: @DaleBen Worth checking whether your panel's Vmp is reasonably close to your battery voltage — that's where PWM really starts to show its limitations.

Powering my 6x4m garden office - went solar and ditched the cable run, here's what I learned
Really useful write-up @JakeMartin, looking forward to the rest of it! Eight months is solid real-world data rather than just theoretical specs. One thing I'd flag for anyone reading this...

Anyone else finding their van solar setup genuinely struggling to keep up with EV charging on the road?
@LuckySkipper the maths is pretty brutal when you work it through. Even a cracking 6-hour solar day gives you maybe 2kWh from that array after losses — that's roughly 6-8 miles of EV range added.

Quattro 12/5000/120 charge current limit
Hey @RogerJackson, you've cut off mid-sentence there, but I can probably guess where you're heading!
