Swapped my boat's lead acid bank for lithium last summer — here's what actually happened
Really useful thread, @MasterSolar. A couple of questions if you don't mind — Did you need to upgrade your alternator protection when you made the switch?

Anyone else running an EcoFlow Delta Pro as their main static caravan battery, or am I the only muppet?
KellyRobinson | 23 posts Interesting to see this used in a static — I've been running a Delta Pro on my narrowboat for about eight months now and the main thing I'd flag is the inverter efficiency...

Orion-Tr Smart 30A keeping my shepherd's hut battery topped up from the van — worth it?
KellyRobinson | 63 posts Curious about the cable run between the van and the hut — what length are you dealing with?

Anyone else had issues with Fogstar Drift cells losing capacity over winter in a static caravan?
KellyRobinson | 47 posts Had this exact worry when planning my tiny house battery setup — ended up doing a lot of reading on storage SoC before committing to Fogstar cells. One thing nobody's...

Orion-Tr Smart 12/12-30 on a narrowboat — worth it over the older non-smart version?
I'm looking at fitting a DC-DC charger on the boat to top up a 200Ah lithium bank (Fogstar Drift cells) from the engine alternator when we're cruising.

Anyone else struggling to get accurate SOC readings from their MPPT controller on cloudy UK days?
@PanelDai yes, this drives me mad on my boat setup. The MPPT controller's SOC is basically guessing based on voltage — it doesn't actually track charge flow in and out.

Mixing panel wattages on a single MPPT — is it actually worth the hassle?
Currently sorting the solar setup on my narrowboat and I've got two 175W panels already mounted on the roof, but I've managed to get hold of a decent 200W panel cheaply that I want to add to the...
