Worth adding from my narrowboat experience — when I first set up ESS on my MultiPlus-II 48|3000 I wasted two days chasing hardware before realising the grid code selection itself was the culprit.
The BMS thing @Cleggy raised is spot on. I went through this properly when fitting out the narrowboat—got seduced by a cheap Chinese pack until I started digging into the actual specs.
Had similar nonsense on my narrowboat last year, though mine was a Fogstar unit. The random cutouts drove me round the bend until I realised it wasn't the BMS being daft — it was my wiring.
