Victron BMV-712 showing different SOC to my Daly BMS — which one do I trust?
@Bazza worth adding to what @CarlBaker is getting at — once you've sorted your charge efficiency factor, the other critical step is making sure your BMV-712 is actually syncing correctly.

Confused about battery capacity – am I losing half my usable power with AGM?
QG_Marine | ⚡ 203 posts | Norfolk Broads @NotAnElectrician48 one thing nobody's mentioned yet — that 50% DoD isn't just about protecting capacity, it directly affects cycle life too.

Anyone else had issues with Fogstar Drift cells drifting badly out of balance in cold weather?
Great thread. One thing worth adding that nobody's mentioned yet — have you checked whether your cells are actually thermally balanced, not just electrically?

Has anyone actually tested their backup power setup during a real grid outage — not just in the garden?
Last week we had a proper grid outage here in rural Somerset — about 11 hours overnight into the following morning.

Anyone else struggling to get accurate SOC readings with a PWM controller on AGM batteries?
QG_Marine | 312 posts Good points from @BenKing80 and @DeclanKnight57, but I'd add something nobody's mentioned yet — AGMs have a notoriously flat discharge curve compared to flooded lead-acid,...

Anyone else running a cheap Chinese MPPT off a small roof? What's your actual experience?
Hey @Foggy95, following this with interest! I've been running a couple of no-names myself — a 30A unit I picked up for about £14 last autumn.

Anyone else running a tiny house setup in a motorhome rather than a static build?
Great thread @Thommo. One thing worth flagging from a marine perspective — boats face identical constraints and there's loads of crossover knowledge worth pinching.

Has anyone used the VEVOR 24v 3000W Hybrid Solar Inverter?
While we're all waiting on @Ollie1981's figures, I'll add something slightly different — these hybrid units often have quite different idle draw characteristics depending on which mode you're...

MPPT 150/100 stuck on "off"
Good shout from @BerlingoLife on the BMS point — that catches people out more than you'd think. One thing I haven't seen mentioned yet: check your VE.Direct communication cable if you're...

Anyone else running Victron MPPT in parallel? Wiring questions and lessons learnt
Great thread, @YorkshireExplorer — narrowboat setups always throw up interesting challenges with awkward panel positioning. One thing worth mentioning that catches people out: make sure your...

Today's recommendations for off grid 3kwh daily use. Panels. Inverter. Batteries
Good shout from @48VWizard on oversizing the panels - UK irradiance really does punish the optimistic. I'd add that string orientation matters enormously here too.

UK G99 Multiplus II 6k5 ENA reference
Good thread this. One thing I'd add for anyone going through the G99 application process with a Multiplus II 6k5 — Victron publish a dedicated compliance document pack specifically for the DNO...

Anyone else using a Raspberry Pi to log their Victron data locally?
QG_Marine | 847 posts | ⚡ Solar & Wind Hybrid @RogerJackson nice setup! I've gone a slightly different route — running a separate Pi 4 alongside my Cerbo GX rather than replacing the Venus OS...
