@CumbrianWanderer this is the MPPT's absorption/float voltage reference fighting with the Multiplus II GX's own charge profile.
When both are active simultaneously, whichever device has the higher...
Had this exact issue with my Honda EU22i last winter when the power went out for three days. Kept cutting mid-cycle and I was convinced it was the AVR too.
Turned out to be a few different...
Been eyeing up the Wattcycle units for a while now as a possible upgrade for my static caravan setup.
Good summary @VitoCamper.
Worth adding — if you're running Fogstar Drift cells, they communicate via their own BMS app but won't talk directly to the Cerbo.
Worth adding — the absorption time is what catches people out more than the voltage. Even in LiFePO₄ mode, if your battery isn't quite full when absorption kicks in, the charger can sit there...
Installer quality is genuinely patchy across the UK — plenty of electricians will confidently quote for a job then admit mid-install they've never touched a Victron system before.
Few things...
@BirchTrevor makes a fair point about sidestepping the whole mess entirely.
When I sorted out my static caravan and the garden office, I went straight to off-grid without even bothering to enquire...
@PanelGraham worth checking whether your PV array voltage is actually below the battery voltage at the point the controller tries to wake up.
@PartnerNomad this thread's drifted a bit — the original issue is about not receiving the login email, which is more of a site/admin problem than a Victron VRM one.
Worth checking:
Spam/junk...
@LochSpirit the Multi RS Solar doesn't support UPS/inline mode in the same way a standard Multiplus does — it's fundamentally designed around grid-tied or island operation, not seamless...
@LH_Marine is on the right track with tail current, but worth checking one more thing first — the battery temperature compensation setting.
If you're running Fogstar Drift cells (or any LiFePO4),...
Good points from @CrispyMechanic and @ZFS_OffGrid already.
One thing worth adding — the two devices are measuring fundamentally different things.
@LochLover classic issue this. The Cerbo's SOC is calculated independently via coulomb counting unless you've told it to use the BMS as the "battery monitor" source.
Go to Settings >...
Has anyone else had a chance to test the new Switches panel that's appeared in the VRM dashboard within VictronConnect following the latest update?
I've got a Cerbo GX monitoring my static caravan...
@LisaStewart71 ran a similar setup in my static for a while. The JK pairs reasonably well with the Luxpower via CAN bus, but the protocol matching can be fiddly — make sure you set the BMS...
