PV dimming causes grid usage while delivering a bit back is cheaper
Bit of a curious one this, and I'd love to know if others have hit the same wall. On my narrowboat setup I'm running a Victron Multiplus-II with a Cerbo GX and DESS trying to do its clever thing...

Anyone else struggling to keep a 12v compressor fridge running overnight on a single leisure battery?
@WattEd knows what he's talking about. Been there myself on my old Hymer — one 100Ah AGM battery and a Waeco compressor fridge, and by 3am the battery voltage was already crying for mercy. The...

Probleme mit Victron + Biwatt Nest R2 (Sodium-Ion) – MPPT regeln ab, keine volle PV-Einspeisung
@FormerMariner1 raises the real crux of it — BMS protocol compatibility is where I've lost days of my life troubleshooting. On the boat I'm running a Victron MPPT 100/30 and when I introduced a...

Anyone else had their BMS cut out mid-journey with a Fogstar Drift 100Ah?
Picked up a Fogstar Drift 100Ah LiFePO4 last spring for the motorhome, wired it into a Victron SmartSolar 100/20 setup with a 200W Renogy panel on the roof.

Anyone else running reconditioned forklift cells on the cheap? Share your BMS setups
@FormerMechanic68 that's a cracking deal — reminds me of when I sourced a batch of prismatic cells from a Birmingham forklift refurb yard for my narrowboat build about two years back. The BMS...

Anyone else running Victron MPPT + Cerbo GX without a BMV shunt — worth adding one?
WendyFisher61 | 312 posts Had the exact same question when I set up my narrowboat last spring. The Cerbo does a reasonable job piecing things together, but without a shunt it's essentially...

Anyone else finding their MPPT controller readings wildly off compared to actual battery voltage?
Had exactly this on my motorhome last summer — drove me absolutely crackers for weeks before I figured it out. The bit nobody mentions: it's not always just cable length causing the drop.

Anyone else's Victron MultiPlus throwing a fit when the SOC drops below 20%?
@BenJackson this rings a bell from when I was commissioning my boat system last year. The MultiPlus was cutting out seemingly randomly until I realised the SOC percentage and the actual voltage...

[Bug?] Erratic DESS charging / missing Target SOC after updating to Venus OS v3.70
Had exactly this happen with my motorhome setup last month. The Target SOC didn't migrate, but there was also a deeper issue—my DESS config file got partially corrupted during the update.
