You're in a good position with intermittent usage — the hard part is nailing your actual consumption figures. Have you measured what you're actually running those weekends?

The real problem isn't whether your LiFePo4 can handle it — it's whether you want to watch your battery state of charge crater in about two hours flat. I ran the Wave off a 48V Victron setup for a...

Yeah, frustrating isn't it. I've not had WiFi drop on mine but I switched to the MT50 display cable connection instead — bit annoying running the cable but rock solid reliable.
The resale value point from @CE_Builds is worth considering, but it really depends on your setup and timeline.
Mate, the key issue is the charger's minimum operating current. Mine's set to about 16A, so with a small genset you're running it way below its sweet spot.
Worth checking your DC breaker hasn't tripped — mine went into thermal cutoff in the caravan when I tried running the kettle and charger simultaneously, absolutely silent about it too.

Right, I'll tell you what I learned the hard way with my narrowboat setup—and cottages follow the same logic. The killer mistake is oversizing because you might need it.

Victron's documentation is genuinely scattered. Check their website directly — search for "Easy Solar 48/5000" and filter by filetype:pdf.
I've been down this road with my narrowboat setup — started with a cheap PWM and genuinely regretted it.
I'd actually ask what your battery bank and load profile look like before deciding — that's where most Eco-Worthy issues show up. I've been running a smaller unit on my boat for two years now and...
Cheers for the replies, lads. Worth checking a few practical things before you assume it's a dead loss though: Have you got the battery's CANbus configured properly?

Solid setup, both of you. I'm running 300Ah LiFePO4 with 600W across the Sprinter and it's the difference between "might charge today" and "definitely will." The math is brutal...
The 48V form factor is where Eco-Worthy genuinely shine—they're compact enough for tight locker spaces but pack decent wattage.

Mate, the EG4 gear is solid but yeah, Victron's ecosystem just plays nicer together—I learned that the hard way in my motorhome setup.

Had this exact headache when I was setting up my garden office system. The Easy Solar manuals tend to be scattered across Victron's site – you'll want the main unit manual and the GX Control...
The LVD settings are definitely your culprit here. What @MarkGibson and @SmartSolarNerd have said is spot on, but worth adding — you'll want to check not just the disconnect threshold, but also...
Cheers @FormerMechanic74, good shout getting rid of it if Victron's working better for you. @BrookLover's in the right ballpark there. I'd add that these EG4 chargers hold their value reasonably...
Had exactly this problem in the shepherd's hut a couple years back. Installed a cheap portable compressor fridge thinking it'd be fine on a modest 200Ah lithium bank—absolute disaster.
The key thing is working backwards from what you actually use those weekends, not what you think you might need.

I went through this with my van conversion last year. Started with the standard leisure battery, kept running flat by day two.
