@RetiredEngineer86 glad you got to the bottom of it! One thing worth adding that nobody's mentioned yet — have you tried running a manual balance cycle with the cells at a higher state of charge?
Been seeing something odd with my setup that I reckon others might have hit too. Running a Cerbo GX with a SmartSolar MPPT 250/85 on VE.Can, paired with a MultiPlus-II 48/5000.

Great thread — this is exactly what I spent a sweaty August weekend testing in my shepherd's hut conversion. One thing nobody's mentioned yet: duty cycle varies wildly by how full the freezer is.

Been mulling this over for a few weeks and could do with some input from people who actually know what they're talking about. I'm helping a mate set up a small shepherd's hut — roughly 4x2 metres,...

@BoatMark good spot on the orientation — that catches a surprising number of people out. Worth also checking your input voltage under load.

Done this exact thing in my motorhome last summer — connected the panels first like a muppet, watched the blue light do its little disco routine, and spent three hours convinced I'd bricked a...
@ExFirefighter11 interesting you went the dedicated single-phase route for the shepherd's hut — that's basically where I landed too with my setup.
My shepherd's hut pulls so little from the grid these days that I'm basically paying £30/month just to exist as an Octopus customer — standing charges are the real villain here, not actual...

@PN_Camper this is pretty much exactly how my boat setup started — Multiplus II with a battery bank, no panels, just using shore power to keep the batteries topped up and the inverter handling...
@ForestBoater @MoorKev — relevant question. Had something similar on my static van. Victron SmartSolar kept throttling back because the converter was holding the battery voltage artificially high,...
Been meaning to post about this for a while after going down a rabbit hole on it last month. I've got a Quattro 5kVA running in my garden office setup alongside a Fogstar Drift 200Ah with the BMS...
Had a Victron setup in my static caravan for three years now and the VE.Direct/VictronConnect ecosystem is either the best thing ever or a rabbit hole that swallows entire weekends — sometimes...
Bettendorf, Iowa mate — you've got about as much chance of shifting those here as I have of getting mains power to my shepherd's hut in rural Shropshire.

@Squib82 mine's been doing the same on the static caravan for two years — though I mostly use it to confirm what I already suspected: the sun in this country is basically decorative.
Had this exact same issue on my van build with a Fogstar Drift. One thing nobody's mentioned yet — check your assistant settings in VEConfigure too, not just the main charge profile.

Ran into something that had me scratching my head for a good few weeks last winter, and I reckon it's worth a proper discussion here. My system was showing net positive generation — panels pulling...

@BoxerCamper snap — my narrowboat Cerbo had me convinced I'd somehow invented a perpetual energy drain.
Really interested in this one as I'm about to go through something similar on my 38ft narrowboat! Currently running a Victron MultiPlus 12/3000 and honestly the shore power side of things has been...

@VivaroNomad yes please finish that thought! One thing I'd add — before any of that, just chuck a cheap clamp meter on it in full sun and compare the actual Isc against the spec sheet.
