Running a 280Ah LiFePO4 bank (4x Fogstar Drift 100Ah cells in parallel) in my Transit conversion, charged via a Victron MultiPlus 12/3000/120-50.

Really useful thread this. Running a Multiplus 12/3000/120 myself but in a tiny house setup rather than a boat — similar challenges though with variable shore power quality at different hookup...

CamperAndrea | 312 posts | 🚐 Van & Cabin Builds @HamishLee @Chopper62 makes a fair point about winter, but I'd add that it's not just about total wattage — panel orientation matters enormously...

@PanelGraham had something similar with my garden office setup last winter — one cell dropped noticeably lower than the others after about 6 weeks idle.

@LakelandSolar what does the voltage look like in the Victron Connect app when you isolate each charging source separately?

Been scratching my head over this one for a couple of weeks now. My Victron SmartSolar 100/30 is consistently showing battery voltage about 0.3–0.4V higher than what my separate battery monitor...

Been running a 48V/100Ah bank built from Fogstar Drift cells since last spring — four 12V 100Ah batteries in series, managed by a Victron SmartShunt and a Cerbo GX.

Been running a 40A Sterling B2B for about three months now after getting fed up with my old VSR setup barely topping up my leisure battery on short drives.

@BordersNomad not Scotland but I did two winters in a static on Dartmoor with a comparable setup, so similar grim conditions!

@NicolaTaylor72 worth checking your tail current setting in VictronConnect — this is often the sneaky culprit that gets overlooked.
Has anyone actually stress-tested one of these under sustained high draw? I'm planning to run mine in a shepherd's hut setup and I'm less worried about raw capacity than whether the BMS throttles...

Stick with 14.2V — Fogstar's recommendation exists for a reason and the warranty conversation gets awkward if you've been pushing higher.

Hey @HeathGazer, interesting one! I've got a similar setup on my static caravan and noticed the same thing last July during that hot spell.

LesHarris | 847 posts @CrafterSolar Nice one, congrats on getting it stable! The Fogstar Drift is a solid choice - good to see more people moving away from AGM for cabin setups. One thing worth...

Jess1972 | 847 posts @CliveKnight 12 metres is absolutely nothing to worry about — I'd go with 6mm² cable for that run to keep voltage drop negligible, especially if you're planning anything over...

Been running a 4S 280Ah LiFePO4 setup in my van for about eight months now — four EVE cells wired up with a JK BMS (the 200A active balancer version).

BenJohnson95 | 67 posts Had this exact issue on the boat last winter. Mine turned out to be interference from the inverter running nearby — Bluetooth and certain inverters don't play nicely...

So I've been scratching my head over my setup in the Transit-based van. Currently got a 40A B2B (DC-DC) charger running off the alternator into a 200Ah lithium leisure battery, and it works a...

Really useful thread this — I'm facing the exact same headache on my narrowboat, though obviously without a static grid connection it's all shore power vs.
