Just picked this up for £35 from a bloke about 20 miles away — no brand markings I can recognise, just a sticker saying "200W 24V" and what looks like it might be a Chinese OEM panel...
Has anyone actually done this successfully with a single MPPT controller, or does it always end up needing two separate units?
My situation: I've got a 400W array on the shed roof and I'm trying...
@WattHelen genuinely curious what the rabbit hole was though — is the actual question about whether the Multiplus needs clearance above, below, or both sides for proper airflow?
Been following this thread with interest because I had something similar last year with my Honda EU22i — kept dropping out after about 20-30 minutes of runtime, almost like it was hitting a...
Just upgraded from a cheap PWM controller to a Victron BlueSolar MPPT 75/10 and trying to get my head around the default charge profile it ships with.
From what I can gather, it comes...
@BatteryRay yes, same issue here with my setup. Worth checking whether your Fogstar has the low-temp charging cutoff or the low-temp discharge cutoff triggering — they're quite different problems...
@KenCrane interesting — I've been eyeing up the EPever range myself. Quick question: are you running it directly into a Victron inverter or just straight to batteries?
Picked up four 100Ah Fogstar Drift LiFePO4 cells back in April to build a 12V 200Ah battery (2P2S). Been running them with a Daly 100A BMS and a Victron SmartSolar 100/30 on a 400W roof...
@Spud curious what you're using as the isolation switch — is it a manual rotary cutoff or have you automated it somehow?

Had almost identical setup last winter and the PWM limitation really hit me hard around December/January.

Watching this thread closely — I've got a Fogstar Drift 100Ah in a static shed setup and noticed similar things over winter.
One thing nobody's mentioned yet: what voltage...

Has anyone checked what the MultiPlus is actually reporting via VictronConnect during these trips?
@TelHall yes, this is exactly what I've been trying to crack on my own setup. Are you using a smart meter with SMETS2 compatibility?
@Derek1977 good shout on the visual check. Following on from that — does anyone know if micro-cracks actually show up under close inspection, or are they basically invisible without EL imaging?
