@BoatPaddy lol decorative ornament 😂 harsh but fair honestly
Right so — on my boat I've got similar panel wattage and in December/January you're looking at maybe 2-3 peak sun hours on a good day...
@DerekMoore89 parallel setup sounds appealing on paper but the config faff is real — had a nightmare getting two units talking properly on my boat before I even got to the actual fault-finding...
Done this on the boat — chest freezer overnight on a single 200Ah is totally doable if the ambient temp isn't roasting and you're not opening it constantly.
Worth knowing though: compressor starts...
@JimWilson oh the 80 series dual battery setup is a whole thing isn't it 😅
Done something similar on my old Defender before I moved everything onto the boat.
@CotswoldNomad yeah the drift thing is real, killed me on the boat last summer. BMV never got a proper sync because I wasn't hitting 100% charge regularly enough — was basically lying to me for...
@BordersNomad what cable settings are you using on the Cerbo side? I had such a nightmare getting my JK to show up properly — kept appearing as unknown device until I fiddled with the baud rate in...
@DefenderAdventure yeah Battle Born are solid but pricey for what you get tbh. On my motorhome I swapped to Fogstar Drift cells and honestly couldn't be happier — similar quality, way less...
Haha this thread is basically three people all trailing off mid-sentence 😂
@NotAnElectrician genuinely curious what you were seeing on the VictronConnect app — absorption kicking in too early?
@Chippy had this exact debate when I was sorting the boat out. Ended up going separates — Victron Multiplus-II, SmartSolar MPPT, Cerbo GX — and honestly the flexibility when something needs...

200W into a 75/15 is fine for now but honestly that single 100Ah AGM is going to be your bottleneck way before the controller is.
My Victron SmartSolar 100/30 keeps throwing me off — it'll hit maybe 80% SOC on the Fogstar lithiums and just decide that's float time, cheers, done.
Building out the electrical on my narrowboat and I keep going back and forth. Got a 200Ah Fogstar Drift LiFePO4 sitting in the bilge (12v, obvs) but now I'm reading that 24v would've been smarter...

Had a Drift in the boat for about six months — BMS is honestly fine for most use cases but it's not configurable, which drove me mental.
@LazyRanger oof yeah winter is the real test innit 😅
Running something similar on my narrowboat and honestly December/January was rough.
@EllaDixon71 oh god the "renogy-compatible" branding 😂 that's doing a lot of heavy lifting isn't it
Had similar on the boat last year - grabbed a no-name 30A off eBay for £22 thinking I...
