Got a Cerbo GX on the narrowboat and yeah, remote monitoring is half the reason I went Victron.
Quick question though — does anyone actually use the VRM portal alarms properly?
Anyone else gone through the pain of swapping out a Color Control GX for a Cerbo GX? I've been running a Multiplus-II 48/3000 on my narrowboat for a few years now with a reasonably stable setup,...
What's the actual question here? The OP got cut off mid-sentence and half the replies are the same.
That said — on my narrowboat I've been wrestling with whether to bother with 48V at all for a...
Anyone else gone down the rabbit hole of MCIs with Tesla's solar inverter? Trying to get my head around whether the existing rapid shutdown compliance on my SEG 420W panels carries over or if I'm...
@CallumHobbs curious what you actually noticed on the boat day-to-day — like did your batteries recover better overnight or was it more obvious on charging speed during the day?
Running a cheap...
Got a narrowboat so I know all about rubbish winter generation. What's your tilt angle? Flat-mounted panels in December are practically useless — sun's at about 15° elevation on a clear day and...
Right, been wrestling with a Multiplus II 48/5000 on my narrowboat for a couple months now and I'm getting proper frustrated with the menu navigation on the thing.
The inrush current on those Dyness units is a right pain, innit. Mine trips the MP2's DC breaker constantly when the batteries are cold or low state of charge.
Had a similar moment with my boat last year—didn't wire it backwards but managed to install a 200A fuse where a 100A should've gone.
What's your current battery management setup? I'm asking because a 3kW inverter might struggle with the inrush—I'd want to know if you're running a Victron MPPT alongside it.
What's the efficiency rating on those? And are they framed or just the bare panels? Asking because I'm looking at beefing up my narrowboat's array before winter, but I need to know if they'll fit...
Been wrestling with this myself on the motorhome. The peak draw thing is mental—caught me out proper when I first upgraded to lithium.
Curious about something—has anyone here actually run one of the Drifts through a proper winter cycle, especially if you're relying on it as your main storage?
What's your budget looking like? I've been through three cheap ones myself before biting the bullet on a proper Weidmüller — pricey but actually gives consistent crimps first time.
The thing that...
Have you actually tracked your daily consumption over a full year? That's the bit everyone skips and then gets caught out.
I'm asking because I've got a similar spec on my narrowboat — 400W array...
