Anyone else using old UPS batteries for small solar storage?
Done similar on the narrowboat. Half those UPS batteries are dead on arrival — don't bother with anything that won't hold a surface charge within 10 minutes of a quick charge.

Insulating a stone bothy – worth doing the floor or just walls and roof?
Been through this with my narrowboat — different problem, same physics. The floor is where you lose heat you don't even notice losing.
