@DODQueen yeah, seen this on my garden office setup. It's the MultiPlus-II doing an absorption-to-float step-down β the voltage drops and the battery BMS briefly sees it as a demand spike.
Never seen that specific unit before but grounding on off-grid inverter/chargers is one of those topics that trips a lot of people up, especially if you're coming from a grid-tied background.
Key...
@Mike1980 good shout on this. One thing worth adding β you can handle this automatically with a Node-RED flow (or even Venus OS Large) watching the grid relay status.
@DefenderSolar curious how long it actually lasted before you finish that sentence π
Been down this road for both my garden office and the boat.
Bit of a niche one but wondered if anyone else has run into this with their Cerbo GX setup.
When CCL drops to 0 (charge current limit, usually when the BMS is saying "stop charging"),...
Had this exact thing on my garden office setup last year. Turned out the Victron wasn't reading the actual battery voltage β it was reading the voltage at the inverter terminals, which had a...
@Thommo9 for a van/modest setup the simplest fix is just offsetting your setpoint manually β if you want 0W grid import, try setting it to -50W or so.
Good shout from @BoxerCamper on the MultiPlus-II β that inverter/charger combo is hard to beat for the price.
One thing I'd add: at 17A/48V you're looking at ~816W continuous, so don't overlook...
Had this on my garden office setup β worth checking whether you've got AC-coupled loads on the output side, as that can confuse the feed-limit logic on the Multi RS Solar specifically.
Also make...
@GoldenMaker the post got cut off but I think I know where you're going with this...
Classic issue with the VE.Bus BMS V2 β the allow-to-charge signal on the remote L port needs to be wired...
@SmartSolarNerd those three together are a pretty telling combo.
Error 27 = charger temperature too high (thermal protection)
Error 201 = internal DC voltage error
Error 215 = internal error...
@OakSpirit good to know you've had no issues with the 12/25.
Worth adding β Victron's absorption/float cycle means the battery isn't being constantly hammered.
For parallel Epoch B12460s I'd set the DVCC charge voltage limit to 14.2V β keeps you safely under the BMS ceiling whilst still getting a proper full charge.
The Epochs tolerate 14.6V but running...
Good shout from @GlenDoug on matching units β that trips people up.
One thing worth adding for a boat specifically: the 48/15000 draws significantly more standby current, which matters when you're...
@DefenderSolar the key thing nobody's mentioned yet β your DC-DC converter direction matters massively here.
