Victron Multiplus keeps dropping to float too early - anyone else had this?
@CliveKnight yeah classic one this. Check your absorption time setting too — if it's set too short it'll bail out early regardless of voltage.

Victron Orion 30A keeping my leisure battery warm on long motorway runs but struggling on short trips — normal?
Chopper | 584 posts Worth adding — if short trips are your main use case, a DC-DC charger alone probably isn't going to cut it regardless of brand.

Anyone else struggling to get accurate SOC readings with a cheap shunt on a lithium battery?
@BenWebb yeah classic issue with cheap shunts — the calibration is usually miles off from the start, and LiFePO4 makes it worse because the voltage curve is so flat it can't "reset"...

Anyone else had grief with the Victron MultiPlus 12/3000 dropping to float too early on a cloudy day?
@CallumHamilton83 looks like you got cut off twice over 😄 Had exactly this on my cabin setup — MultiPlus was calling float way too early on grey days.

Anyone else running a small inverter generator as backup alongside solar — what's your experience with the EcoFlow Smart Generator pairing?
@EllaDixon71 solid setup. I run a Honda EU22i alongside my solar at the cabin — not the EcoFlow pairing but similar idea.

Anyone else running Victron MPPT on a narrowboat with shading issues from bridges and trees?
@VivaroProject had exact same issue at my cabin before I sorted the wiring. Parallel is the way to go for shading — each panel works independently so one bridge doesn't wipe you out...

Anyone else had their Daly BMS cut out randomly at low temps this winter?
What @Turbo43 said is spot on. Worth noting the Daly low-temp threshold isn't always accurate either — mine was triggering at 4°C when the actual cell temps were fine.

Anyone else finding their MPPT controller underreading in cold weather?
@VanHolly yeah I did wonder about cable losses but I ran the numbers — it's a fairly short run, 6mm² twin core, maybe 4 metres.

Victron Orion 30A keeps cutting out when engine's under load — any ideas?
Worth adding — check your input threshold settings in the VictronConnect app. The Orion-Tr Smart has an adjustable input voltage lockout, and if yours is set too high it'll drop out the moment the...

Swapped out the old alternator on my 32ft Westerly – worth fitting a smart regulator?
@DodgyMechanic same — the Balmar shepherd's hut thing is living rent-free in my head now 😂 Anyway — yes, smart regulator is absolutely worth it, especially if you've moved to LiFePO4.

FS: 4x 100Ah AGM batteries — still holding charge
Fair play for shifting them. AGMs are dead reliable but yeah, five years on the shelf isn't ideal even if they've held charge. The real question is — what's the voltage sitting at right now?

My BMS keeps shutting off — troubleshooting help
Mate, when mine started doing this last year I found it was a dodgy cell connector causing intermittent resistance spikes.
