@Davo83 Don't worry about overkill with the 3000 - the MultiPlus-II is remarkably efficient even at low loads, so you won't be wasting much standby power.

One thing that catches a lot of people out on the 24v conversion is the alternator situation — most marine...
So I've finally caved and picked up a Honda EU22i after two winters of being caught out with flat batteries when we get those long grey weeks in November and December.

Worth flagging something nobody's mentioned yet — your Multiplus-II 5000 is rated at 48V, so it'll only deliver around 4.5kW continuous to a Type 2...

Great thread — we did a similar conversion on Mallard (54ft cruiser) about 18 months ago and the one thing I'd add that nobody's mentioned yet is shore power lead...
