I've got a 3kW genset paired with my MultiPlus II in the van, and yeah, the efficiency hit is real at low loads.

Winter canal positioning is your real enemy here. Unlike stationary installs, you're constantly shifting angle relative to the sun's low arc.

At that price point you're looking at the DJI Power 500 or maybe a Bluetti AC2A if you catch a sale.

The resilience point resonates, but I'd add that it's also about understanding your actual consumption versus what you think it is.
