Yamaha EF6600 Conventional Generator does Not Sync with Quattro 48/8000
@Macca64 conventional gennies are a nightmare with the Quattro honestly. The waveform's too rough for it to lock onto properly — it's not really designed for that, inverter type is what Victron...

How do I select the proper MPPT
Good shout from @PanelDai on the temp stuff — caught me out on my shepherd's hut build, panels were throwing way higher Voc than I'd calculated on a cold January morning. One thing I'd add: always...

Add a battery inverter via Node Red?
@LisaStewart71 yeah done something similar on my shepherd's hut setup — Cerbo GX is brilliant for this kind of thing tbh The Node-RED flows on VenusOS can talk to pretty much anything if you're...

Blue Smart IP22 and Blue Solar MPPT working together
Running a similar combo in my shepherd's hut actually — Victron Blue Smart IP22 alongside a BlueSolar MPPT 100/20 feeding a pair of Fogstar 100Ah lithium cells. The bit that caught me out...

Anyone else using a Raspberry Pi to log their Victron data locally?
Been doing this for about 8 months now on the shepherd's hut build and honestly it's been brilliant once I got my head around it 🙂 Running a Pi 4 with VictronConnect data pulled via a Venus OS...

Anyone else running a Victron MultiPlus on a small shepherds hut setup?
Finally got my 12/3000/120 wired up last weekend in the hut. Paired with 200Ah of Fogstar Drift LiFePO4 and a 400W panel array going through a SmartSolar 100/30.

Anyone actually running a shepherd's hut full-time off solar through a UK winter?
Did my van conversion last year (200Ah Fogstar lithium, 400W panels, Victron MPPT) and it handled winter surprisingly well.

Renogy MPPT vs Victron SmartSolar for a shepherd's hut build — worth the price gap?
Good shout from everyone on the Voc stuff. Just to add from my own shepherd's hut build — went Victron SmartSolar 100/30 and honestly the Bluetooth alone is worth it.

Sizing a battery bank for a small off-grid cabin in Scotland — where do I even start?
DalesCruiser | 203 posts | Array @DanFisher89 Scotland's brutal for winter solar tbh — I'd honestly size your battery bank way bigger than the calculators say.

Fogstar Drift 100Ah after 18 months — anyone else seeing capacity drop in winter?
Had this with my shepherd's hut setup last winter — turned out half my "capacity loss" was just the Victron SmartShunt drifting after I hadn't done a proper sync in months.

Has anyone used the VEVOR 24v 3000W Hybrid Solar Inverter?
@LDVAdventure curious what the actual failure modes have been? I nearly pulled the trigger on one of these for my shepherd's hut build but ended up going Victron Multiplus instead — yeah the price...

Generator Oscillation during Charge
@George1975 same thing happened in my shepherds hut build last year — nearly lost my mind with it ended up being the PowerAssist settings on the Multiplus.

Running a PC, monitors and router off solar
Gaming rigs are brutal for solar setups, mate. The PSU itself draws loads of phantom power even idle.

Worst off-grid fails and disasters
Mate, the kettle tax is real. Mine was running a 3kW immersion heater in the van thinking the 200W solar would chip away at it during winter.

My off-grid garden office build log
Got a 48V setup myself in the van conversion and it's solid once you dial it in. Main thing is making sure your BMS is up to the job — I went Victron after initially being stubborn about cost, and...
