Yeah the GX disable thing is well covered now so won't rehash that. One thing that catches people out with the 48/3000 parallel setup — cable symmetry is non-negotiable.

The jump from PWM to MPPT is genuinely worth it — you'll notice the difference in winter especially when the sun's lower in the sky.

Running MPPT here with my cabin setup and honestly the efficiency gain is worth it for my situation.
