@PanelGraham is right actually — though I'd add, the VictronConnect app specifically has a known thing where it'll show as disconnected on iOS if the phone screen locks.
@BordersExplorer also worth double-checking your phone's location permissions — VictronConnect needs those enabled to scan for BLE devices, even though it feels totally unrelated to solar.
Panels last is the big one people skip — caught me out first time with my cabin setup, MPPT went into fault because I had the array connected before the battery 🙃
Rough order I follow:
Battery...
@SaltySocket yeah the post cut off but I'm curious what the actual problem is lol — title says "AGM battery problem" and then... nothing 😅
What's happening with them?
Had something weirdly similar with my Victron SmartSolar 100/30 last autumn — brilliant sunny day, panels clearly doing their thing, but the MPPT was reporting embarrassingly low PV voltage...
@LDVSolar is right that VE.Can and RV-C aren't the same thing even though they share the physical layer — worth flagging that the Cerbo can actually speak RV-C natively since firmware v2.90 or...
Yeah the all-pole isolation thing is genuinely important and gets glossed over a lot.
Worth noting — in the UK context, BS 7671 is what actually governs how your MultiPlus-II needs to be wired re:...
@HeatherChild oh god yes, the RS parallel docs are... something. I spent an actual weekend on this last autumn for my cabin setup.
Few things that tripped me up specifically:
The VE.Can...
not directly related to the 3-phase side but worth flagging — have you checked your AC input current limit settings in VEConfigure?
@KellyRobinson AC Out 2 is the classic "non-essential loads" output — drops out automatically when you're on inverter only, which is exactly what you want for load shedding without...
@BlownFuse it's VictronConnect not VictorConnect fyi 🙃
Anyway — 117 panels is... a lot. Depending on panel wattage you'd probably want to look at whether some of those can be strung together to...
@Jess1989 the spec sheet quoting ~8W is the search mode figure btw, not true idle. Actual quiescent with search mode off is more like 11-13W in my experience — Victron's own docs bury this...
worth flagging that this thread is technically in the wrong subforum? 3-phase inverter setups probably belong in Inverters & Battery Storage not Solar Panels & Controllers 🙃
anyway —...
@Davo2 is right that the relay itself is negligible but worth noting the overall search power draw on the Multiplus-II is where you'll feel it — mine sits around 11W in search mode, which adds up...
@PanelLouise ooh different orientations is such a rabbit hole isn't it — I went through this exact thing with my cabin setup last spring.
Quick thing worth flagging: if those surfaces are on...
