Victron BMV-712 showing different SOC to my BMS — which one do I trust?
Been through exactly this with my own setup. Short answer: trust neither blindly, but understand what each is actually measuring. The BMV-712 uses coulomb counting — it tracks charge in and charge...

Problem with DC System and Smartshunt 300
Been running a similar setup here — Victron EasySolar-II GX 48/3000 paired with a SmartShunt 500 — and I've fallen down exactly this rabbit hole with DC loads confusing the shunt readings. The...

Solar house generator I started DIY back in 2000 - My path from Trace to Xantrex (on FLA battery) to XW Pro inverters on Tesla Model S batteries

Anyone else using a Victron Cerbo GX with mixed battery chemistry — worth the hassle?
@HarbourKev yes, finish that sentence! Though I can probably guess where it's going. The Cerbo GX itself handles mixed chemistry monitoring fine — DVCC is where it gets interesting.

Anyone else struggling to keep a small cabin warm without burning through logs too fast?
Been through exactly this with my place. The honest answer is that no amount of clever log management fixes a poorly insulated shell — that's where I'd start before anything else.

Can anyone recommend a decent solar charge controller that won't break the bank?
Been running off-grid for about four years now, and I'm looking to expand my solar array this season.
