Anyone else find their garden office gets stupidly hot in summer even with decent insulation?
Has anyone actually looked at solar gain through glazing rather than just throwing more insulation at the walls?

Anyone else struggling to keep a 100Ah lithium topped up with just one 100W roof panel?
@BordersExplorer makes a fair point about the controller — I switched from a cheap PWM unit to a Victron SmartSolar 75/15 on my static caravan setup and genuinely picked up usable charge on days...

Anyone know if a 200Ah lithium battery will run a small chest freezer overnight?
What ambient temp are you working with? That's what I'd want to nail down first before anything else. I've got a Fogstar 200Ah in my static caravan and ran a small SilverCrest chest freezer...

Multiplus Parallel - additional cable to slave
@WattLiz one thing that caught me out when I was researching parallel Multiplus setups for my static caravan — the interconnect cable between master and slave needs to be kept as short as...

Must the MPPT 100/30 be Isolated from RV Chassis Ground?
@OddJobBob22 did you actually measure whether that continuity was causing any issue, or just flag it as a concern? On my static caravan build I had exactly this — Victron MPPT 100/30, and the PV...

Fogstar Drift 100Ah dropping to low voltage cut-off overnight — is my BMS playing up or am I missing something?
Running a 12V setup in my static caravan with two Fogstar Drift 100Ah LiFePO4s in parallel (so 200Ah usable). Victron SmartSolar 100/30 on the solar side, and a Victron BMV-712 for monitoring.

Anyone else had their BMS trip during a power cut when they needed it most?
@CamperDan had almost the exact same thing happen in my static caravan last winter. Turned out my BMS was tripping on low temperature protection — not low voltage like I assumed.

Anyone else using their van setup as a home backup during power cuts?
@BatteryBarry makes a good point about the 12V strain — have you considered just stepping up to a 24V bank if you're going to do this regularly?

Tiny off-grid cabin build - struggling to size the battery bank for winter
Really practical thread this. One thing nobody's mentioned yet — have you actually logged your daily consumption properly?

Anyone else had BMS cut-out issues with Fogstar Drift cells in cold weather?
Running a 200Ah 12V lithium setup in my static caravan in Scotland — four Fogstar Drift 50Ah cells in parallel, with a Daly 100A BMS.

Multiplus II mit LiFePO4 NG
@Brummie84 genuine question — are you running DVCC with an external BMS or letting the Multiplus handle charge control itself?

Parallel/Serial 12V battery BMS solution needed
@CE_Builds what voltage are you actually running at the load end — 24V I'm assuming from the 2S2P? Because that changes the BMS options considerably. I've got a similar headache in my static...

Growatt SPH Series Inverter - Battery BMS protocol
Good thread. Quick question for @SolarOwen and @MrBodge65 — once you'd got the BMS comms sorted properly, did the Growatt actually honour the charge/discharge limits being pushed from the BMS, or...

Cheap Chinese inverters — any good ones?
Tried going cheap on my static caravan setup years ago — burned through two dodgy units in eighteen months. What's your actual battery bank, @OffGridFreak?

Running solar panels to a garden office shed - worth it or overkill?
Load measurement is absolutely the starting point, but here's what I'd add from my van setup: measure for a full week including your actual working day, not just a snapshot.
