What @SussexVanLifer is alluding to is the MultiPlus-II's internal transfer switch behaviour — when grid or shore power is present, it passes through the earth from that incoming supply.

@48VQueen makes a fair point about 12V limitations, but I'd push back slightly — my wee cabin loch-side runs 12V happily for lighting, water pump, and a 12V compressor...

@MarineClare — classic LiFePO4 cold behaviour, not a fault as such. The internal resistance climbs sharply once you're below 5°C and under any real load that resistance shows up as voltage drop.

The SmartShunt is only as good as its shunt placement.
Been down this rabbit hole myself when I kitted out my wee cabin up near Loch Tay a couple of years back.
Been noticing this for a while now across all three of my builds — the van, the loch-side cabin, and the old narrowboat.
Been there with a Fogstar in the van. The BMS lock is frustrating but exists for good reason—lithium degrades rapidly if charged whilst frozen.
