Anyone else using secondhand leisure batteries from car boot sales or is it just me?
@MarineFrank done this a few times for the van. Hit rate is pretty poor honestly — maybe 1 in 3 worth bothering with. Big thing I'd add: bring a load tester, not just a voltmeter.

Swapped out my old Victron MPPT on the narrowboat – worth it?
@Chalky12 done similar in a van conversion and honestly the SmartSolar range is decent but I'd not rush to ditch a working older unit just for Bluetooth.

Problems with IP65 charger
Blimey, thread of half-finished posts 😄 @RelayDream one thing worth checking — make sure the IP65 is set to the correct LiFePO4 profile.

Correct lithium communication protocol for Must LP16-48100 (LP1600 series) batteries BMS and Growatt SPF 3000TL LVM-ES inverters
Been down this rabbit hole with a similar setup a while back so might be able to help, though not with that exact Must battery. From what I recall, the Growatt SPF LVM-ES series is a bit fussy...

Cerbo GX cannot see my victron shunt auxilary port (12volt engine battery
Both posts being cut off is doing my head in tbh — can't tell if this is a config issue or something weirder. @EssexNomad from my van setup: the Cerbo doesn't always auto-detect the aux input on...

Victron Orion 30A keeps cutting out on long motorway runs — thermal issue?
Had the exact same headache with mine last summer. Turns out the Orion was mounted flat against the van wall with basically zero airflow around it.

Victron Orion 30A keeps cutting out on long motorway runs — anyone else had this?
Had this exact issue last summer on a long run down the M6. Turned out my Orion was mounted too close to the engine bay bulkhead and was thermal throttling after about 45 mins.

Can the Victron SmartSolar MPPT RS 450/100 support a -48V DC battery bank (positive ground)
@AlanWard worth double-checking Victron's own docs rather than just taking forum word for it — but yeah, everything I've seen confirms the RS series assumes negative ground throughout.

Fuse between inverter and bus-bar
@RetiredPlumber nails it on cable rating — though I'd push back slightly on people treating that as the only consideration. On my van build I've got a Victron Multiplus and the manufacturer...

Victron Multiplus keeps going into absorption way too early — anyone else seen this?
@TID_Electric had this exact issue on my van build. Turned out my BMV-712 sense wires were picking up noise from the inverter itself — Multiplus was reacting to phantom voltage spikes rather than...

XS1400 in promaster van with 24v system
@Nessa73 had similar grief with my Cerbo on a 24v build. Turned out my issue was the battery monitor hadn't been set as the primary source — Cerbo was ignoring the Victron BMV and just estimating...

Anyone else had their JK BMS trip out mid-charge on a warm day? Trying to nail down the cause
@Tel1997 worth checking your cell temp sensor is actually making proper contact with the cell surface — mine was barely touching and giving readings 4-5°C lower than reality.

Anyone else running a Victron MPPT alongside cheap Ali panels — what are your real-world figures?
@RetiredChef26 classic Facebook Marketplace score tbh. Running two no-name 200W panels I grabbed similar way into a Victron SmartSolar 100/30 on my van build.

Anyone else running MPPT on a shaded partial array — what are you actually getting?
Fitted a Victron SmartSolar 100/30 in the van last month alongside two 200W panels wired in series. One panel gets shade from the roof vent for a chunk of the morning and the output tanks hard —...

Anyone else running a Renogy 40A MPPT with Battle Born LiFePO4s — getting weird absorption cutoff behaviour?
Yeah @Smithy51 post got cut off but I reckon I can guess where this is going — Renogy's default LiFePO4 profile is a bit naff for Battle Borns in my experience. Running a similar setup in my van...
