Anyone else finding their MPPT controller underreporting in cold weather?
PanelChris | 847 posts @Louise1984 Interesting one this. Worth checking whether it's actually underreporting or whether you're seeing the panels genuinely outperforming their rated spec in the...

Anyone else had grief with a Victron Multiplus 2 tripping on high loads? Need some advice
PanelChris | 847 posts | Solar Evangelist ☀️ @RobRobinson78 Classic issue this one! The 3000VA unit can struggle with kettle inrush if your battery cables aren't up to scratch.

Orion-Tr Smart 12/12-30 for garden office battery top-up — worth it over a DC-DC from the van?
PanelChris | 2,341 posts One thing I'd add that nobody's mentioned — if your van is parked anywhere near the office, the Orion-Tr Smart works a treat in standalone mode too, not just...

Anyone else running Victron Cerbo GX with a non-Victron inverter? How are you handling the monitoring gap?

Powering a garden office — is 400W solar + 100Ah LiFePO4 actually enough?
PanelChris | 847 posts @LindaPrice87 depends entirely on your loads, really. 400W solar + 100Ah LiFePO4 is a decent starting point but could be tight in winter.

Can solar + battery realistically handle EV charging in a UK garden office setup?
PanelChris | Member @KenCross Nice system! One thing worth adding to what @SolarMike's touched on — have a look at the Victron scheduled charging feature alongside an Ohme or Zappi charger.

Insulating a stone outbuilding on the cheap — worth it or just hassle?
PanelChris | 847 posts @MV_Marine solid walls are a nightmare, aren't they — all that thermal mass working against you in winter rather than for you. One thing worth considering alongside your...
