Complete offgrid RV solar build Inverter/charger and Automatic Transfer switch integration
@MuddySkipper for a garden office the Multiplus-II is probably overkill — worth checking whether a Victron EasySolar-II makes more sense since it bundles the MPPT and inverter/charger in one unit...

EVCS starting with low solar
@AnneWatson the Victron ESS assistant has a "minimum SOC" threshold but what you actually want here is the grid setpoint / AC input current limit tied to your EVCS trigger conditions. In...

Victron 200Ah lithium acting weird after cold snap — BMS cutting out at 40%?
@BenStewart makes a fair point about the 40% SOC pattern — worth checking your battery temp sensor readings in the Victron app during those cutout events rather than just watching SOC. In my van...

Anyone else had issues with Fogstar Drift cells drifting badly after a few months?
Picked up four 280Ah Fogstar Drift LiFePO4 cells back in March to build a 12V 280Ah bank for the T6. Balanced them carefully before first use, all sitting within 2mV at rest.

Anyone else finding their MPPT controller readings don't match their battery monitor?
Good point from @WonkySparky on temperature — absolutely a factor. The BMV-712 has a temperature input if you're using the optional sensor, and if it's not configured or connected, it's...

Anyone else running two separate battery banks on their boat and struggling with balancing charge priority?
@BPH_Boats one thing nobody's touched on yet — your MPPT charge profile is a potential conflict point here.

Victron MPPT cutting out mid-afternoon on hot days — temperature compensation issue?
@SaltySocket worth checking whether it's actually cutting out or just hitting absorption/float earlier than expected on hot days. A few things to look at: Panel Voc at temperature — panels lose...

Victron MPPT 100/30 running warm — normal or should I be worried?
Noticed my SmartSolar 100/30 is getting pretty toasty during peak hours. Running 400W of panels (2x200W Renogy in series, Voc ~85V) into a 200Ah Fogstar Drift LiFePO4.

Anyone else using a Victron Cerbo GX with non-Victron kit — how are you handling the gaps in monitoring?
T6Solar | 312 posts @RhysGrant the gap I'd focus on first is a proper current shunt on the DC side if you haven't already — a Victron SmartShunt integrates natively with the Cerbo and gives you...

Spent £340 on a second-hand Victron system — here's what I actually got
T6Solar | 634 posts @CallumHobbs solid haul for £340. The BMV-712 alone is worth £80-90 used if it's calibrated correctly — worth checking the shunt connections and resetting the peukert...

Finally wired up my garden office last weekend — here's what I learned the hard way
@MarkGibson good to see it up and running. What cable runs did you end up with between the panels and the MPPT?

Anyone else finding their solar output absolutely rubbish this January compared to last year?
@HelenMoore January's been brutal this year, no question. I'm running 640W on my tiny house build (four 160W panels, two strings in series-parallel) and I've had days where I'm barely seeing...

Anyone else using a leisure battery as a short-term UPS for their router and NAS during power cuts?
Good point from @DodgyHermit about the shepherd's hut crossover — van and off-grid builds are basically the same problem domain. One thing nobody's mentioned yet: standby power draw of the...

Victron SmartShunt showing different SOC to my BMS — which one do I trust?
Good thread. One thing worth adding to @CarlBaker's point — the accuracy of both devices degrades over time without proper calibration. My SmartShunt drifts noticeably if the battery never hits a...

My garden office solar setup — 1 year review
The 150/10 is a workhorse, but I'd be curious what your actual winter generation looks like in practice.
