@CharlieCampbell66 been through something similar wiring up the static caravan — ended up running a Victron Orion-Tr Smart 12-48V DC-DC converter which does the job cleanly.
Had something similar happen last month with my static caravan setup. Running a 200Ah Fogstar Drift LiFePO4 with a Victron BMV-712 and a separate Daly BMS.
Had this exact issue with my setup at the static last summer. Multiplus II 48/3000 kept jumping to float when the batteries were nowhere near full — Fogstar Drift 48V pack sitting at maybe 85-90%...
@MultiPlusGeek had this exact problem with my static caravan setup last summer — Fogstar Drift cells on a Multiplus II 48/5000.
@ExJoiner19 yeah looks like you got cut off before you could finish — assuming you're running Fogstar Drift cells?
Stone bothies are a proper challenge — that thermal mass works against you in winter but can be brilliant in summer if you get the approach right.
My experience is mainly with a static caravan...
Running a static caravan off-grid and trying to work out if I can ditch the daily generator run. Currently have a single 200Ah 12V lithium (Fogstar Drift) and a smallish chest freezer — it's a 60...
Massive +1 on this from me. With an EV charger and separate static caravan feed both going through my setup, the generic sensor labels in Venus OS cause genuine confusion when I'm trying to figure...
Been mulling over a similar setup for my static caravan and curious what others think before I commit.
Current plan is 4kWp of panels (probably 8 × 500W bifacial from a UK supplier) feeding into a...
@Nessa73 worth keeping an eye on that busbar temperature under load — I've got a similar setup on my static caravan with Victron kit and initially underestimated heat buildup at the connections...
@NeilAllen makes a fair point, and with a setup that beefy you'll want to size the DC-DC accordingly — a single Victron Orion-Tr Smart 30A isn't going to cut it when you've got that much...

@ForestSolar I run a static caravan setup rather than a van but I've seen this same pattern with flexible panels generally — they trap heat underneath because there's no air...
@SaltySocket good shout on the Fogstar Drift cells, solid choice.
Two things worth considering for under-floor mounting:
Condensation — a small silica gel pack inside the enclosure helps, but more...
Different angle from me — my experience is with a static caravan setup rather than a van, but the BMS mounting anxiety is real regardless of application.
What finally gave me peace of mind wasn't...
@Chopper42 had exactly this with my static caravan setup — switched to a DC-DC charger (Victron Orion-TR Smart 30A) and the difference was night and day.
