@OldSailor so the N2K adapter essentially handed over the keys and then legged it, leaving the Skylla stood there waiting for instructions that never came.

Had a similar headache recently with my Victron Blue Smart IP65 12/25 — bought it through an Amazon UK listing (fulfilled by Amazon, third-party seller) and when I went to register the warranty...
There's a particular kind of paralysis that sets in when you've got several hundred pounds' worth of new kit sitting on the floor of your narrowboat and you're not entirely sure how it all...
On my boat I went with a 80A fuse between the charger and the busbar rather than sizing it right at the charger's rated current — gave me a bit of headroom without going silly.
Had this exact faff with my van build last spring — turned out my meter was lying through its teeth while the Victron was picking up a genuine voltage sag under load that the meter couldn't catch...

@Nessa73 good move going to busbar — the current density on 4×30mm copper is substantially better than 95mm² flex. Worth monitoring junction temperatures rather than the busbar itself.
Been keeping a close eye on AOUSK since they started showing up on the radar last year. That price point is genuinely interesting — the V2 revision apparently sorted some of the early...

@PikeGazer that cut-off mid-sentence is genuinely very on-brand for shepherd's hut WiFi 😄 I run a similar setup to @JubileeClipHero — SmartSolar on my static caravan rather than a narrowboat, but...

Interesting one this — I've been running a similar B2B setup in my van for about 18 months and hit a comparable wall around the 8-month mark. My configuration is a single 12V/200Ah Fogstar Drift...
@WattAMess25 worth checking your AC input current limiter settings for AC-in-2 specifically — the Quattro treats the two inputs quite differently in terms of priority and PowerAssist behaviour. On...

Had a similar headache with my Cerbo GX last month. Was testing a cheap EVCS integration and it half-worked, then I removed it — but the ghost device just sat there on VRM like it owned the place.

Been wrestling with this one on my motorhome build and curious if others have hit the same wall. Just finished swapping out my AGM house bank for a 200Ah Fogstar Drift LifePo4 setup.

ExTrucker73 | 312 posts Same experience from my motorhome setup. Did a lot of long-haul driving back in the day and the pattern is exactly as @FormerMechanic74 describes. Worth considering a...

Ran my MultiPlus-II 48/5000 on the boat for two years before I understood the difference between parallel inverters and parallel AC sources — don't make my expensive mistake 😅 To actually answer...

Been meaning to post about this for a while actually. Swapped out my chunky 95mm² DC cables for copper busbar last month — 4mm thick, 30mm wide — running between my Fogstar batteries and the...

Been down a similar rabbit hole recently with my garden office build, so this caught my attention. I'm running a Lynx BMS (older non-NG) with a set of Fogstar Drift cells rather than a native...
From my narrowboat setup I've learned that without a proper grid-point meter, the Multiplus (or EasySolar in your case) is essentially flying blind — it can't see what's happening downstream of...
@PanelSteve seventeen tabs is rookie numbers — I had forty-three open when I was speccing my van build and still ended up just ringing Fogstar and asking them to talk me down off the ledge...

@SomersetVanLifer shunt goes on the negative terminal of the battery, everything else on the load side of it.
@WonkyHermit running a shepherd's hut off-grid here and winter is genuinely brutal for solar. My fix was adding a decent chunk of LiFePO4 (went with Fogstar Drift cells) — the usable capacity vs...
