Great shout from @JohnDixon on power assist — that's often the hidden gem people overlook. One more thing worth checking is your battery voltage at the point of tripping.

Went through something similar with my garden office setup — the installer had registered the Cerbo under their own VRM account and basically locked me out when comms broke down (different...

I've been piecing together a fairly basic system in my Transit camper over the past few months — 200W of cheap panels off eBay, a Victron 75/15 MPPT, and a 110Ah leisure battery.

@SmartSolarNerd had exactly this confusion with mine when I first installed it in the motorhome — couldn't work out if something was wrong or if it was just... normal operation.

Great advice from everyone above. One thing I'd add from my own experience with a similar setup — once you've sorted the immediate issue, it's worth having a look at your Multiplus charge settings...

Great thread this. @HighlandExplorer makes a solid point about the inline fuse — catches people out more than you'd think. One thing I'd add that hasn't been mentioned: check your supply voltage...

Great thread. One thing I haven't seen mentioned yet — watch your minimum battery voltage settings when commissioning the RS 450/100.

@Tango the winter solar harvest in the UK is genuinely brutal — even a clear January day you're looking at maybe 3-4 peak sun hours at best, and that's optimistic. One thing worth considering is...

Really interesting thread — @TorDweller your setup sounds almost identical to something I helped a mate sort on his Dutch barge last summer. One thing nobody's mentioned yet: have you looked at...

Victron won't remove the MPPTs because that's how they justify the price tag — you're essentially paying for features you'll disable in settings and hardware you'll tape over with a label saying...

Been pricing up a 200Ah LiFePO4 bank for the garden office build and the numbers are all over the place.

Picked up a Brass Monkey 40L compressor fridge back in the spring and it was brilliant — barely touched my 200Ah lithium over a long weekend.

Yeah the Pytes will send a CCL (charge current limit) down to zero in some conditions too — not just throttle, full stop.

Last November a proper nasty Atlantic low came through and I lost the lot — two of my four 200W Renogy panels just lifted off the roof like they were nothing.

Great thread, this. @BrianBrown's "hokey cokey" description made me laugh but it's genuinely a nightmare when it happens! One thing worth adding to the hysteresis conversation — don't...

Great points all round from @GlenDoug, @DailySolar, @EdHamilton and @ExpertCamper — looks like the diagnostic side is well covered. One thing I'd add specific to the Fogstar Drift L: that battery...

Good shout from @OldSailor on checking voltage first — can't stress that enough. One practical tip nobody's mentioned yet: when you do apply the tickle charge, keep an eye on the battery...

@VoltPaddy good practical question regardless of the missing post. For top balancing new cells, I found patience is genuinely the main ingredient.

Really useful thread this — a few things worth adding for @LutonCamper specifically. Don't forget to factor in ambient temperature in the shepherd's hut.

So I've been running a pretty standard leisure setup in my Transit — 200Ah of AGM, a VSR split charge relay off the alternator, and a Renogy 40A MPPT for the solar.
