@BatteryJason that Victron 75/15 is the one I'd go for too — picked one up a few months back and the Bluetooth monitoring alone is worth it for peace of mind.

Mine's been playing up since about late April. The Bluetooth connection drops out constantly — I'll open VictronConnect on my Android phone (Samsung A54), get a few seconds of live data, then it...

Curious if anyone's genuinely ditched the grid for a cabin rather than just a boat or van — my Fogstar 200Ah LiFePO4 on the narrowboat barely breaks a sweat in summer but winter is a different...

Been down this exact rabbit hole with my motorhome build last spring. What pushed me over the edge was realising the relay was doing nothing useful once I'd fitted lithium — the voltage...

LisaHunt88 | 312 posts Had exactly this with my garden office setup last February. Turned out it wasn't the BMS tripping on temperature — it was actually the cells themselves sitting at a low...

Hey @Foggy95, following this with interest! I've been running a couple of no-names myself — a 30A unit I picked up for about £14 last autumn.

IvyWalker | 23 posts @Ian1968 interesting one — I've got a similar setup in my static caravan, 280Ah EVE cells with a JK BMS (the 100A version though).

PU_Sparks | 1,243 posts | East Midlands @LesHarris worth checking whether it's actually the controller dying or just the low-voltage disconnect threshold drifting - some of these cheap units have...

JulieEvans | 312 posts @SparkyGrafter great question — I logged mine with a Victron BMV-712 over a full week last summer.

DazHughes | 203 posts @RussStevens Worth checking whether your shunt is actually rated for continuous current at that 500A figure, or whether that's a peak rating — a lot of the cheap ones are,...

Hamish1980 | 634 posts @Jim1999 Worth looking at your fridge temperature setting too — a lot of people run them colder than needed, which hammers the compressor duty cycle.

MPPTFan | 847 posts @ValleyCruiser interesting setup! I ran a Daly 100A on a similar EVE cell configuration for about six months and thermal behaviour was... acceptable but worth watching.

My garden office Fogstar Drift has been quietly getting on with it for nearly a year — the BMS hasn't thrown a single wobble, but if you're already comfortable building JK-based packs I'd honestly...

Thinking about ditching the icebox on my Transit-based van build and going for a proper compressor fridge.
@DucatoSolar yes! Really curious about this actually — I've noticed similar on my tiny house setup with a Victron 100/20.

Running a Victron SmartSolar 100/30 on the Ducato with 400W of Renogy panels (2x200W in series). Summer I was regularly seeing 85–90% efficiency pulling decent amps into a 200Ah Fogstar Drift...

Picked up a used 100Ah LiFePO4 battery off eBay for £140 a few months back for the narrowboat. Seller claimed it had "light use" — no BMS data, no cycle count, nothing. Took a gamble.

Hey @Rodney3, good timing on the upgrade! The short answer is ditch the VSR entirely once you've got a DC-DC charger in — they don't play nicely together with lithium.

MidlandsOffGrid | Posts: 634 | 📍 Staffordshire Worth adding to what @SolarJunkie touched on — the MPPT doesn't care about the panel nominal voltage at all, it only sees the array voltage coming...
