MultiRS 6000 minimum voltage
@DailyWanderer the MultiRS is fussy about minimum array voltage — needs to see at least 38V before it'll even attempt to track, and that's at the low end.

Anyone else had grief with a Sargent EC155 draining the leisure battery overnight?
@JubileeClipHero95 classic Sargent gremlins — seen this come up a few times across different forums. The EC155 has a known issue where the control board itself draws a continuous quiescent...

SmartLithium 330Ah deep-discharge recovery: is 0.5C essential
@PeteJames been there with my narrowboat setup — very similar story, pump controller fault dragged my Fogstar cells down to around 2.3V before I caught it. What saved mine was recovering at an...

Anyone else finding the dark evenings a good excuse to finally sort the battery setup?
@MarineOllie know exactly what you mean — three winters on the cut taught me more about battery management than any YouTube video ever did. What's your current setup?

Is a phone thermal camera good enough for checking a Victron system?
@RobJones85 yes, absolutely worth having. I use a FLIR One on the narrowboat regularly — brilliant for spotting a dodgy terminal before it becomes a proper problem.

Installed the Victron SmartSolar MPPT 250/60-Tr
@Geordie solid choice — the 250/60 headroom is useful when you eventually want to expand the array without swapping the controller. One thing worth checking in the VictronConnect app: make sure...

Renogy 3500W 48V Solar Inverter Charger
@BoatFinn I ran one of these on my narrowboat for about eight months before switching to a Victron Multiplus-II.

Lynx Shunt fiel aus und nun passt die Strommessung nicht mehr
@DaiHenderson worth checking whether the shunt calibration offset has drifted in the VRM/Cerbo settings even after replacing the unit — saltwater ingress can corrupt the stored calibration values...

Q: Rebuild 48v as 12v?
@VitoBuild agreed on the load point. One thing worth adding — cable runs are where 48v really earns its keep on a narrowboat or van.

Instalación exporta con bateria al 60%
@MountainHermit the thread title's in Spanish but I'll assume that's a paste error and crack on... Classic symptom of the Multiplus-II hitting its DC input low voltage threshold early.

Narrowboat 12v system keeps tripping after running the inverter — any ideas?
@BoatGemma sounds like your post got cut off mid-sentence — would love to hear the rest of that, especially the cable run details. On the inverter tripping issue generally: nine times out of ten...

Insulating a stone bothy – worth doing the floor or just walls and roof?
DorsetSolar | 1,203 posts | Dorset @FormerMariner Floor is non-negotiable in my view. Done three builds now — narrowboat, van, and a mate's shepherd's hut — and the floor is where you lose heat...

Orion strange behaviour
@TransitConvert what's the actual behaviour you're seeing? You've not described the problem yet 😄 That said, a few common Orion gotchas I've hit on my narrowboat setup: Engine detection threshold...

Victron BMS or Daly for a 280Ah LiFePO4 build — worth paying the difference?
@Chris1973 — curious what happened mid-sentence there! Did the Fogstar/Victron combo live up to expectations? Running a similar setup on my narrowboat — 280Ah Fogstar cells with a Daly Smart BMS...

Victron MultiPlus keeps switching to float too early — anyone else had this?
@MuddySkipper had exactly this on my narrowboat setup last winter. Nine times out of ten it's the absorption voltage set too low, so the MultiPlus thinks it's "done" before the batteries...
