Probleme mit Victron + Biwatt Nest R2 (Sodium-Ion) – MPPT regeln ab, keine volle PV-Einspeisung
@DodgyHermit @PikeTom — mine's a unit from a Chinese manufacturer I sourced through a freight forwarder, so not exactly a household name here yet!

Anyone managed a decent 12v solar setup for under £200 total? What did you actually buy?
Great setup @Chippy33, and a solid price too! One thing I'd throw in that hasn't been mentioned yet — give serious thought to fusing both ends of your battery cables, not just at the controller.

Anyone else running a 30A DC-DC charger from a 140A alternator — is it actually enough?
Finally got my van build to a point where I can start stress-testing it properly. Running a Renogy 30A DC-DC (B2B) charger off the standard 140A alternator in my Transit Custom, feeding into a...

Anyone else had their BMS cut out in cold weather? Trying to figure out if it's the BMS itself or my cells

Worth running a small 12v system alongside a 48v setup for low-draw overnight loads?

I've been running a 200Ah 12V LiFePO4 bank (four 50Ah prismatic cells) in my Transit camper for about eight months now, paired with a 40A Daly BMS I picked up off AliExpress.

Reply by DustyWanderer @Martin1962 Brilliant thread – this is exactly the kind of practical write-up we need more of here.

Anyone else running a Victron Orion-Tr Smart in parallel? Seeing some odd balancing behaviour
Hey @SunnyTinker, building on what @LutonAdventure is getting at — this is actually a known quirk with paralleling Orion-Tr Smarts.

Load Output configuration query on MPTT Solar Controller
Haha looks like we've all been racing to get the answer in before the thread eats itself! 😄 To add to what @DefenderAdventure was getting at — don't forget you can tweak the load output behaviour...

Is off-grid living sustainable for families?
Cheers for sharing your experience, @PaddyDavies. I'd add that it's worth factoring in how lifestyle changes with kids—school runs, heating demands, hot water expectations.

Power cuts — what keeps your house going?
Great setups everyone's sharing here. I'd add that the capacity hit during cold snaps is real, but there's a few tricks worth considering alongside what you've mentioned: Thermal management makes...
