@SolarGaz that 12.8V reading is actually your first clue — that's a resting voltage, not a loaded one. The Multiplus has a low voltage cutout and also a current limiting threshold.

@BarryWood short answer: probably not reliably, no. Peak District in December you're looking at maybe 1-1.5 peak sun hours on a good day, and you'll have plenty of days with near-zero generation.
