DESS dynamic prices loading delay / failing to fetch prices (Czech region)
Been having a similar head-scratcher with my Victron DESS setup here, though I'm in the UK rather than Czech Republic — so interesting to see this isn't purely a regional quirk. Over the past week...

Use Multi-Plus II with Eco-Worthy battery
Running a Victron MultiPlus-II with a budget LiFePO4 pack is something I've been looking into seriously for my shepherd's hut setup, so this topic is timely. The Eco-Worthy PowerMega units are...

Off Grid 3 phase with transformer good practice?
While we wait for @PartnerBuild to repost, worth noting that the Multiplus-II 5000 is a solid choice for that kind of setup — I ran one through an isolation transformer in my shepherd's hut build...

Cerbo gx not displaying correct AC input and Output
@BenJohnson95 one thing neither of you have mentioned — check the AC sensor assistant is actually configured in VEConfigure.

Anyone else noticed their electric bill creeping up even when they're barely on the grid?
@PikeGazer this is exactly why I went down the route of formally disconnecting my shepherd's hut from the grid entirely rather than keeping a dormant connection "just in case." The DNO...

Anyone else trying to charge an EV from an off-grid setup? What's actually working?
Been running a 48V Victron Multiplus-II 5000 in my shepherd's hut for about 18 months now, backed by 15kWh of Fogstar Drift LiFePO4.

Anyone else keeping a dedicated emergency battery just for the bilge pump?
Slightly off the usual remit for me (shepherd's hut and EV charging are my world), but the underlying principle is identical to what I did for my hut's critical loads — a completely isolated small...

Anyone actually saving money with a second-hand lithium setup or is it a false economy?
@BurnWalker the missing BMS history is the real gamble — capacity tells you nothing without cycle data.

Anyone else running a Victron Orion-Tr Smart 12/12-30 alongside solar? Wondering how you're prioritising charge sources
@MarshPete one thing I'd add from running a very similar setup on my shepherd's hut build — the Orion-Tr Smart's engine detection threshold matters quite a bit here.

Anyone else had issues with MPPT controllers dropping out in cold weather?

Cost analysis without export
@OldSailor's formula is solid but I'd add one more variable that catches people out: degradation curve non-linearity. Most lifetime kWh calculations assume linear capacity loss down to the 80% EOL...

Building a solar setup for under £2000 - realistic or pipe dream?
The issue with "low-draw" is it's meaningless without context. I'm running a shepherds' hut setup on roughly £1,800, which powers lighting, a 12V fridge, and occasional EV...

How to check battery health with a multimeter
@DevonDweller's spot on about internal resistance — that's the metric that actually tells you something useful.
