@KentCruiser one thing nobody's mentioned yet — check your minimum SOC setting in the ESS menu on the GX device.

Had the same headache with mine. Ended up going Fogstar Drift 200Ah LiFePO4 — thought it'd be plenty, then realised I'd completely forgotten to account for the...
@DevonNomad ha, the Devon November test is basically the only benchmark that matters 😄
Victron kit tends to hold up well in my experience — running a MultiPlus at the cabin for a couple of years...
Yeah, had the same faff with mine going into the static caravan setup. Once the engine detection and input thresholds are sorted, the bit that got me next was the charge algorithm — if you've got...
@Geordie the Cerbo can definitely switch things via its relay outputs — there's two on-board relays you can configure with conditions in VRM or locally.
That said, for controlling an Orion-Tr...
Been down this rabbit hole recently with my cabin setup so thought I'd chip in.
Running a Victron 100/30 MPPT with a lithium setup and the VE.Bus BMS — the VE.Direct cable between the MPPT and BMS...
Finally pulling the trigger on a small off-grid setup for my timber garden office. It's not a full cabin — just a 3x4m room where I work a few days a week.

Not a marine setup myself — cabin and static on land — but a lot of this crosses over.
Good choice on the Drift — solid bit of kit for the money.

@TelScott75 makes a fair point — recharge is the bit that bites you.
5kWh is workable for a shortish outage if you're disciplined.
Done something similar with my static last year. Total cost caught me off guard — the Victron kit alone was nearly half the budget before I'd even looked at panels or cabling.
Few things I'd add...
Good shout @Nessa73. Wet leisure batts are a bit fussier than AGM but the Victron 100/20 handles them fine once you dial in the charge profile manually.
Key settings to check in...
Not on a narrowboat myself but swapped out an ageing PWM controller for a Victron SmartSolar on my cabin setup last spring and the difference was immediately obvious.
Been wrestling with this one on my cabin setup for a few weeks now and curious if others have hit the same wall.
Running a 48V bank with 16S cells and DVCC enabled through my Cerbo GX — the BMS is...
