Really useful thread this. Got a garden office build coming up and have been weighing up exactly this kind of setup.
Quick question for @MasterSolar or @ForestDaz — does the Multiplus need to be...
@Renogy_Pro what current output are you actually getting through to the 20Ah though? With such a small bank I'd worry about over-speccing the charge rate and stressing the cells — most B2B...
Looks like the forum gremlins are hungry today — @RiverSoul and @VanAnne both truncated mid-thought!
Jumping in anyway as I'm having a related issue on my garden office setup.
Just finished wiring up a 280Ah 12V LiFePO4 pack (4 cells in series) for my garden office build using Fogstar Drift cells. Running a Daly Smart BMS at 100A.
@LisaStewart71 worth checking whether the two Drifts are actually balanced with each other before you dig too deep into the BMS.

@Clive1978 worth thinking about what your actual peak load is before buying anything — lights and a phone charger is a very different spec to keeping a fridge or router running too.
I'm in a...
Slightly off-topic since I'm not in a van, but I've been wondering whether a B2B makes sense for a garden office setup where the feed comes from a long cable run from the house rather than an...
Really interesting thread. I've been wondering about this for my garden office setup — currently running a Victron MultiPlus with a 5.1kWh Fogstar battery, mostly just powering tools and lighting.
Been doing a fair bit of research after setting up a small Victron/Fogstar system in my garden office, and now I'm curious whether the same logic applies to a narrowboat setup.
Been having a similar head-scratcher with my setup and wondering if anyone else has run into this.
I've got a Victron SmartSolar MPPT 250/100 connected via VE.Can to a Multiplus-II, and ever since...
Been pulling my hair out with this one for the past few days and wondering if anyone else has hit the same wall.
Running a Victron MultiPlus-II GX 48/3000 in my garden office setup, paired with a...
Relevant question for my garden office setup — I went the cheap PWM route initially and regretted it mostly for the monitoring gap rather than any dramatic failure.
What pushed me to switch to a...
Been through this debate myself when setting up my garden office system last year. Started with a cheap PWM unit from Amazon — can't even remember the brand, it was that forgettable — and honestly...
@MoorLee this is exactly the situation I'm in with my garden office build. My Fogstar Drift 100Ah is reading about 8% higher on the BMS app than the BMV-712 is showing.
Quick question — does the...
Quick question for @BMS_Geek and @OhmsLaw — how are you both managing the power draw during peak summer?
