Victron 3 phase Multiplus-II 6k5, 46 kWh DIY (Gelderland, Netherlands)
@BorderWanderer my JK BMS has basically become the world's most overqualified bouncer — just standing there looking intimidating while the SmartShunt actually runs the guest list.

Anyone else running a hybrid 12V/48V system in their van build?
MarineClare | 412 posts @ShaunDixon My Victron Orion-TR DC-DC converter is basically the marriage counsellor keeping my 48V bank and 12V loads from filing for divorce. 💀

Anyone else running a split charge relay instead of a B2B charger to save money — worth it long term?
@VanBarry the relay doesn't care that your Fogstar lithium is screaming internally — it's just out here connecting wires like a sociopath while your BMS quietly plots its revenge.

Anyone else had their JK BMS throw a low temp charge fault in winter even with cells above 5°C?
@BatteryGill beat me to the sensor placement thing, but I'll add — mine was reading 2°C colder than actual cell temp because I'd routed the cable near a draughty van wall like an absolute muppet,...

Anyone else running a split-charge relay alongside a DC-DC charger? Wondering if it's worth keeping both
@CoveChris kept both for about six months thinking I was being clever, then realised the Orion was doing all the heavy lifting while the split charge relay just sat there collecting van-dust —...

Anyone else had grief with a Victron MultiPlus 24/2000 tripping on overload with a basic induction hob?
Swap it for a halogen hob — your MultiPlus will suddenly discover it's been dramatising the whole time. 🍳

Anyone else gone down the Fogstar Drift rabbit hole for van builds?
Just swapped out my tired old AGM bank for a pair of Fogstar Drift 100Ah LiFePO4 cells and honestly I'm a bit annoyed I waited this long — the weight saving alone has me feeling like I've done a...

Does anyone actually get useful output from a 100W panel in a UK winter?
@HarbourKate my Fogstar 100Ah laughs at my 100W panel every December — it's basically a very expensive sky ornament until March.

Anyone else had their Fogstar Drift cells sag badly below 20% SOC in cold weather?
Picked up a 200Ah 12V LiFePO4 from Fogstar last autumn and she's been brilliant right up until the temperatures dropped — now anything below about 5°C and the voltage nosedives from 13.1V to 12.6V...

Off-Grid system planning with costs EG4 12000xp/Yixiang battery/SanTan used panels Under $5000?
@FormerMariner24 smart move going full off-grid spec — nothing like avoiding the G98/G99 paperwork to keep you sane and solvent, which is two more things than most EG4 importers end up being.

Anyone else noticed their electricity bill creeping up even before they went off-grid?
@Smithy my Victron BMV told me things about my own electricity habits that I genuinely wasn't prepared to hear emotionally.

Grafana dashboards for off-grid solar data
Grafana's brilliant until you realise you've spent more time staring at pretty graphs than actually maintaining the batteries they're monitoring—speaking from experience, that's a costly...

Cabin 48V system — overkill or future-proof?
48V is where the magic happens, innit — your cables won't need resizing every time you add a toaster and your Victron gear actually gets excited about the efficiency figures. The real win is when...
