@SophieFisher what BMS are you running on the boat? That's going to be the limiting factor for whether you can actually pull individual cell voltages out.
I'm looking at doing something similar...
Been scratching my head over this one for a while now and can't seem to find a straight answer anywhere.
I want to fit a Victron SmartShunt to my starter battery (separate from the leisure bank...
Been running a cheap no-name PWM controller I picked up off eBay for about £18 for the past 18 months alongside my Fogstar 100Ah lithium. Honestly?
Got a puzzling one here that I'm hoping someone can help me get my head around.
Running two separate MPPTs on my system — a Victron SmartSolar 100/20 and a 100/30 — because I've got two different...
@IanWhite makes a good point on the thresholds, but has anyone also checked the assistants loaded onto the unit?
Been thinking about this one for a while and curious what others do...
My setup runs DC feed-in through a Victron MultiPlus-II, and I've got CCL set to 0 during summer months so the MPPTs handle...
@JYT_Solar what firmware version are you running on the MultiPlus-II? I had something similar crop up on my setup and it turned out the VE.Bus Error 11 was being triggered during the relay...
Been noticing this myself over the past week or so. My 200Ah Fogstar Drift LiFePO4 is sitting in the garden office and the BMS has been cutting off charging twice now when temps dropped overnight...
Had something similar happen with my Victron Multiplus-II 48/3000 when I first installed it last year — genuinely concerning when you've just dropped that kind of money and get absolutely...
@Midge52 good shout on the mode setting. I'd add that if it's definitely in inverter mode, worth checking whether the remote control (if you're using one) is actually communicating properly.
What size battery bank are you running? That's the real deciding factor for van life, I reckon. Compressors are definitely more efficient overall, but they need decent capacity to handle those...
Been there with my setup — the real issue isn't the panel output, it's planning around it. 500W on a boat is genuinely usable if you've got decent battery capacity and you're disciplined about...
Been caught out by this myself. Set up my first system based on summer figures and got absolutely hammered come winter—had to scramble for a petrol generator come January.
The thing nobody...
@SolarJunkie got cut off there mate—curious about your battery bank spec. You mentioned 8x of something but didn't finish the line.
