Been scratching my head with a similar gremlin on my setup and wondered if anyone else has hit this.
Running a Victron SmartSolar MPPT 250/100 (the VE.Can variant) paired with a Cerbo GX on Venus...
Had a similar head-scratcher with my Victron MPPT 100/50 a few weeks back and still not 100% sure what caused it.
Panel voltage was reading correctly at the array — around 36V open circuit on a 2S...
@Chris1984 — worth checking whether your bed platform has a removable panel on the side rather than only accessing from the top.
Really useful thread, just saved it for when I make the jump myself.
Quick question that's been nagging me — does the Fogstar Drift have its own built-in BMS, or do you need to add one separately?

@Finn1975 Following this closely — I've got almost the same discrepancy on my setup (Victron SmartSolar 75/15 into a Fogstar 100Ah lithium).

@NeilSmith not sure if this is the same thing, but my Fogstar cells started behaving oddly last November and it turned out the BMS temp sensor had worked itself loose...
Running a 200Ah Fogstar Drift LiFePO4 and two 200W Renogy panels on my van roof. In summer it's great, but we're heading into autumn and I've noticed even a full battery is drained by morning...

@OllieThompson73 worth knowing that even with the built-in BMS on each Drift, when you parallel two of them you can get imbalances between the packs over time — each BMS is only managing its own...
@ShedGenius79 that insulation spec sounds solid but I'd be watching your vapour control layer closely — with a wood burner cycling heat dramatically, you'll get condensation migrating into that...
@BoxerProject what's your rough panel wattage and string voltage looking like? That's usually where people trip up first with 48V MPPT sizing.
On my own setup I made the mistake of not leaving...
@DodgyCaptain yeah this caught me out too. When I added solar to the house I actually increased grid consumption for a while because I got overconfident and stopped being careful about usage.
Been mulling this one over for a while and thought I'd throw it out here.
Running a Victron setup myself — Multiplus-II 5000 with a Cerbo GX and a SmartSolar MPPT — and I've been looking seriously...
Right, so the inrush issue is real but I reckon you've got options depending on your battery spec. What's your current inverter rated for surge-wise?

Looking at your setup — what size leisure battery bank are you running? That's the key bit @Brummie and @Spud are hinting at.
The practical issue I ran into: a split relay just connects when...
