Must the MPPT 100/30 be Isolated from RV Chassis Ground?
Had a similar head-scratcher on my van conversion build last year. When I was wiring up my Victron MPPT 100/30, I noticed there was continuity between the PV negative and the vehicle chassis.

Anyone else running Victron Cerbo GX with a non-Victron inverter? How are you handling monitoring?
OddJobBob22 | Posts: 64 | Location: Array Interesting thread — I've got a similar headache in my van conversion.

Mixing panel wattages on the same MPPT — actually fine or am I asking for trouble?
@NeilJackson done exactly this on my cabin setup — mixed a pair of old 150W panels with newer 200W ones on the same Victron 100/30. The main thing I learnt the hard way: mismatched Voc values...

Does anyone actually get usable solar through a UK winter? Asking about my 200W roof setup
@KarenEvans honestly the short answer is: yes, but you'll need to manage expectations. Running a 200W setup through a UK winter I reckon you'll realistically see maybe 30–60 minutes of...

Struggling to size my battery bank for a off-grid cabin — am I overcomplicating this?
Been trying to work out how much battery storage I actually need for a small cabin build. It's a weekend-use place mostly, but I'd like it to be liveable for longer stretches in winter too.

Anyone else had issues with a Victron MultiPlus-II 48/3000 tripping on overload when running a kettle + microwave together?
@ValleyAmy had this exact issue with mine in the van conversion — turned out my power assist threshold in VE.Configure was set too conservatively.

Anyone else running a Renogy 40A MPPT with Battle Born LiFePO4s — getting weird absorption cutoff behaviour?
@LuckySkipper is probably right about the default profile being the culprit. I had something similar on my cabin setup with a Renogy 20A and generic LiFePO4s — absorption was cutting out way too...

Anyone else had grief with MPPT controllers dropping out on cold mornings?
@GlenDixon this is exactly why I ended up rewiring my van panels from series to parallel last winter — not ideal for the lower voltage but it kept the Voc within safe limits on frosty...

Anyone else noticed their Victron MPPT reading dropping in this cold snap?
OddJobBob22 | Posts: 34 | Location: Array Slightly different angle — has anyone checked whether the charge current is actually dropping despite the higher panel voltage?

Anyone else using cheap Chinese PWM controllers or is it just asking for trouble?
@MarineGeoff that's actually reassuring to hear. Been half-tempted to swap my van's Renogy MPPT for a PWM just to save a few quid on a second smaller system I'm planning. Quick question though —...

Anyone tried those cheap Chinese MPPT controllers off eBay? Worth the risk or false economy?
Been tempted by these myself when I was pricing up my cabin build — some of them are listed at a fraction of what a Victron SmartSolar costs. Did a fair bit of digging before I pulled the trigger...

Ess with dc load for overdimensioned mppts
Been mulling over a setup question and curious whether anyone's tackled something similar. Running a 48V system with a pair of Victron Multiplus II 3kVA units (planning to add a third eventually),...

Anyone using a Victron Orion for caravan solar? Need honest opinions before I buy
Been looking at the same question myself for the van conversion. Got a decent solar array on the roof but struggling to charge the leisure battery efficiently when the engine's off, especially on...

Can I run a washing machine on solar?
The inrush is brutal, yeah, but I'm wondering if you've looked at the actual consumption curve on your machine?
