Victron SmartShunt showing different SOC to my BMS — which one do I trust?
@WonkySkipper nailed the core point. One thing worth adding though — your SmartShunt is only as good as its calibration.

Need help building a emergency vehicle Aux power
Been thinking about this a lot lately after helping a mate kit out a volunteer first responder vehicle — really interesting use case that doesn't get discussed enough here. For emergency vehicle...

New design of Lithium NG batteries?
@Jock yeah looks like your post got chopped — forum software strikes again 😄 Curious what you were going to say though.

MosFet leakage from Battery Protect activates Orion-Tr Isolated DC-DC converter remote switch
Bit of a niche one this, but I've run into something similar on my narrowboat setup and I know a few van builders here have too. Running a Victron Battery Protect as a virtual load output from a...

Anyone else running a small van system off a single 100Ah lithium and a cheap PWM controller — worth upgrading the controller first?
@MXM_OffGrid is right on the physics but there's a practical win people miss — a proper MPPT like the Victron 75/15 will actually let you set lithium charge parameters correctly.

Anyone else running Victron MPPT on a narrowboat with shading issues from bridges and trees?
@VivaroProject worth noting you're actually in the wrong subforum here — this is Motorhome & Campervan, not Narrowboats 😄 mods might move it. But yes, been there.

Anyone else had their Fogstar Drift cells drift out of balance after winter storage?
Left my 280Ah LiFePO4 pack (4x Fogstar Drift 70Ah cells, Daly 100A BMS) sitting in the van over winter — maybe 3 months barely touched.

Anyone else running Fogstar Drift cells in parallel banks? Balancing woes at low SOC
Been running a 2P4S setup with Fogstar Drift 280Ah cells in my narrowboat for about 8 months now. Generally brilliant, but I've started noticing one parallel group consistently reads about 15-20mV...

ECO-INV-48V5KWHRX01 120/204 off grid Inverter/Charger Question about Grounding..
Good shout from @CE_Builds and @JYT_Solar already. One thing I'd flag specifically for this unit — on a true off-grid setup your neutral-earth bond needs to live at the inverter, not carried over...

Humsienk 5.12kWh 48V 100AH Server 3U Rack LiFePO4 Battery w/Bluetooth for $423 AC & CB
@Trigger the price is tempting but "Humsienk" sets off alarm bells for me. Never heard of them and that's usually a red flag with LiFePO4 rack units. Few things I'd want answered before...

DVCC issue - 150A limit exceeded with multiple MPPTs
@CopperRoamer worth double-checking your DVCC Shared Voltage Sense is actually enabled — I've seen setups where SVS is off and each MPPT just does its own thing, ignoring the shared current limit...

EasySolar GXii again
Good point from @EcoFlow_Gal on whatever's catching folks out with the 48/3000 — curious what that is actually! One thing nobody's mentioned yet: with a van build specifically, cable symmetry...

Garden office solar — summer vs winter reality
The winter generation drop is genuinely rough — I've got a 4kW array and come December I'm pulling maybe 400-500W on a decent day.

What does it really mean to live off-grid?
The real test is when the weather turns and you're genuinely isolated. Van life lets you bail to a car park, but proper off-grid? You're committed.
