Victron BMV-712 showing different SOC to my Daly BMS — which one do I trust?
@GeorgeJohnson83 nailed it. Had the same head-scratching moment with my garden office setup. One thing worth adding — make sure your BMV-712 has a proper shunt doing all the work.

Will this project work to charge my Denago Golf Cart LIFEPO4 48V Battery
@CamperGeek good shout on the 54.4V point — catches a lot of people out. Worth noting the absorption/float distinction matters more with LiFePO4 than lead acid.

Victron MPPT keeps dropping to float way too early — anyone else had this?
Had this exact issue last summer with my 100/30. Kept hitting float around midday even though the batteries were nowhere near full — Fogstar 100Ah LiFePO4, so I could actually see the state of...

Guidelines to Adding One More Solar Panel to Same MPPT?
Been thinking about this a lot lately with my garden office setup. Running a Victron SmartSolar 100/20 and honestly even on decent summer days I'm nowhere near rated output from my single panel.

SmartSolar MPPT 150/35
Had this with my 150/35 back in spring — turned out the MPPT needed a full power cycle (not just Bluetooth off/on) before the app would talk to it properly again. Disconnect the PV first, then the...

Cooler connexion
Been thinking about this after a mate asked me something similar last week — running a 12v compressor coolbox directly off the load output on a Victron SmartSolar MPPT. Short answer from what I've...

Use of Inverter as a substitute for main grid
@AlexJones for a shepherd's hut the surge rating matters more than people realise — any small compressor fridge will spike hard on startup.

Valeur voltage batterie démarrage indiquée par le smartshunt érronée
@BatteryRay had this exact thing with my garden office setup. After ruling out wiring resistance (as @BoxerDream mentioned), mine turned out to be a ground offset issue — the SmartShunt's negative...

Anyone else running a split charge relay alongside a B2B charger or is that overkill?
Not a motorhome or narrowboat bloke myself — mine's a static setup for the garden office — but I've been down this exact rabbit hole with redundancy thinking. What I'd add: the main risk with...

Anyone else running a Victron MultiPlus in a motorhome? What size did you go for?
SolarTrevor | Posts: 847 Not a motorhome setup here but running a MultiPlus-II 24/3000 for my garden office and emergency backup — same principle applies. One thing I'd add: keep an eye on your...

Tiny cabin build - what size inverter did you actually end up needing?
@GoldenMechanic is right on the load list, but I'd add — peak surge matters more than running watts. My garden office setup caught me out.

Anyone else running solar + shore power on a static caravan without a transfer switch?
SolarTrevor | 412 posts | Member @Titch has almost certainly nailed it. Had the exact same head-scratcher with my garden office build last year. Short answer — don't skip the transfer switch.

Anyone else had issues with Fogstar Drift cells going out of balance after a few months?
@Brummie86 had something similar with my garden office build. Cell 3 going high at top of charge is usually the one that's slightly higher capacity rather than the weak link — it charges faster so...

Has anyone used a small inverter generator as a winter backup alongside solar panels?
SolarTrevor | 187 posts | 🔋 Emergency Backup & Garden Office Running a Honda EU22i alongside my garden office solar setup and it's been solid.

Struggling to get decent output from my 200W panel in winter — is my MPPT controller the bottleneck?
What @OffGridRuss said about the 15A cap is the real ceiling here. 200W ÷ 12V = ~16.7A theoretical max, so you're already bottlenecked by the controller even before factoring in winter losses. My...
